We’ve featured quite a few engagement shoots so far on the blog and they tend to be quite casual affairs, with a relaxed vibe. This is perfect for the less camara-ready couple but if you’re ready to face the lens and happen to be more of a fashion maven… what to do? Doll up obviously!
I’ve been watching this particular photographers blog for sometime and when I saw this super stylish couple gracing their pages I immediately asked if we could feature them. Kiren and Sandeep are getting married next month and if the e-shoot is anything to go by, it’s going to be a very chic affair. Photographed by Alie and Niels at Blue Sky, the images pop right off the page – I can’t wait to see the Wedding!
Kiren has written a little bit about the shoot and her wedding planning for you all to read… plus there’s some seriously magazine worthy fashion fabulous images to enjoy below – Thanks Kiren!
Sandeep and I had our pre-wedding photo shoot at Edinburgh Quay with Ali and Niels from Blue Sky Photography. It was a fantastic day and even the weather held out for us. I wore my Christian Louboutin shoes and Sandeep got to practise his moody model poses.
Ali and Niels are great to work with. They both have a great eye for detail and created some amazing compositions. The overall style was contemporary and this complimented our funky look on the day. They both managed to depict our personalities in the photos and make us look wonderful. Thanks guys!
Our Wedding preparations
Sandeep and I are hosting our wedding reception at Hopetoun House on 8 August 2010. We are extremely excited as the wedding will have breathtaking decor and many surprises throughout the evening. The team at Hopetoun have been marvellous in creating my dream wedding at Scotland’s finest stately home.
When I first visited Hopetoun House, I knew straight away that it was the perfect venue for our wedding as it signified Sandeep and I as a couple – classic and sophisticated!
From a very young age I always envisaged a big wedding encapsulating my cultural background of bright colours and bollywood beats while still creating an overall contemporary classic look. This has been the impetus for our theme throughout. It has been great seeing all the final details come together.
My main focus throughout has been on decor and creating an experience for my guests which they will not forget. We have split our marquee in two to create a day and night feel which has worked brilliantly with help from Ed at Arc Marquees. He has designed a bespoke layout so that we have a main dining marquee which will potentially accommodate 450 guests and a dance marquee with a chic lounge area which will be revealed later in the evening.
It’s important that with this much space the decor creates the right mood for the day while still representing us as a couple. I am using two styles of flowers and three main colours to dress the marquee alongside some other luxurious props to set the tone. I hope the blend of colours will create the impact I am looking for while still maintaining a real polished look.
My favours on the tables completely represent me and are uber girly and sweet! Gemma at Planet Flowers and Zsa Zsa at Event Den have been great in taking my ideas and creating the perfect look for our day. The catering is going to be traditional Indian cuisine. Food at a wedding is always important and we wanted our guests to be well fed so we stayed away from designer food and kept it simple.
There will be many surprises to entertain our guests including a spectacular grand finale just to give our wedding the ultimate x-factor!
I just love the stylish fashion vibe to this shoot and the fact that this modern couple weren’t afraid to make it reflect them, uber chic and sophisticated. Thanks Kiren and Sandeep and also Alie and Niels from Blue Sky for allowing us to blog this.
