Bridal Fashion & Accessories
Aga The Bride: My choices reflect my personal style, whilst at the same time they were comfortable for the hot Spanish climate. I love cherry blossom, and the detail on my dress from Ben De Lisi looks like cherry blossom. Each petal was hand stitched with a little pearl. It’s a classily cut dress, light and comfortable and well priced. Perfect for what I had in mind.
My jewellery was made to order, sourced on Etsy. Golden orchids with tiny pearls – I just loved this combination. I had a drop veil, agin made to order sourced on Etsy. I wanted to combine the veil with the flower crown for the ceremony – it was a traditional accent for a non-traditional wedding.
Groom Fashion & Accessories
Sean wore Ted Baker. The Suit was a perfect cut for my husbands physique, and out of TB Spring Collection so worked with hot climate. Paired with bow tie and funky shoes, we both loved this combination. Classy, with a little splash of colour and individual taste!
We fell in love with the cortijo even before we went to see it. It was perfect for our small and intimate wedding, we had everything we needed right there with us. It has beautiful, old, rustic and charming character, an amazing location and very spacious surrounded by breathtaking views.
Colour Scheme & Decor
Our decor was Boho chic because we are a bit bohemian in the way we approach life. We loved everything about this style, and it reflects who we are as people! We wanted to include bohemian accents like flower crowns, rustic peaces of furniture & signs, lace & gold accents, baby’s breath, colourful ribbons etc. At the same time we wanted to be chic, and I think we have achieved it!! We chose a spring palette in pastel tones – because we love Spring and May is our favourite month. We wanted to embrace the feeling of the Spring.
We wanted the flowers tied-in and reflecting our colour scheme, so we had Spring flowers in soft pastel tones. We loved our flowers, we had a lot of them, and they were beautiful. The bouquets were hand tied with burlap twine, bridal crown to go with bridal bouquet. Baby’s Breath flower girl crowns, buttonholes and mother’s floral corsages.
The Wedding Party Fashion
We wanted to avoid dark colours, embrace colours and Bohemian styles. I was relaxed about the dress code as we wanted everyone to feel comfortable in what they chose to wear.
We loved the idea of a bespoke ceremony and the fact that we could add our own ideas and rituals to it. A ring warming ritual was an addition of ours which was beautiful, as well as unity candle, readings and poems.
We had Spanish guitarists during the guests arrival, ceremony and cocktail hour. Very local, very subtle and created a great ambience. Dinner, first dance and party music was chosen by ourselves and played through a sound system connected to Spotify. We liked the idea of playing what we liked, and creating the playlists was great fun!
We served Spanish tapas, paella. We opted for the Spanish cuisine as Spanish food cooked in Spain is unbeatable! They are excellent cooks and the produce is very good, we also liked the entertainment value of it. It also worked well with a buffet choice. We chose a naked cake with fresh berries, berry butter cream and champagne sponge.
Anna from Limelight was our favourite from the moment we saw her images on her web site. She really captures all the special moments and I love the fact that every wedding she shoots tell a story – and they’re all very different! She is amazing at what she does, and the images we received are beautiful. She was a pleasure to work with and the pictures are exquisite.
The Wedding Planner
Rachel Rose & Claire, her assistant were fantastic. They made our dreams come true, and Rachel was amazing. So easy to talk to, friendly, professional and creative. Nothing we asked for was a problem, and she was amazing on a day. Together we created the best day we could ever have imagined! I love the fact that every wedding is bespoke, and you have freedom to be as creative as you like, or you can just leave it to them. It’s just incredible what Rachel and her team do. Amazing!
Also I would like to say that the Maid of Honour and Best Man did amazing work. They really were the best choice ever! They made everything stress free for us. I would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to them both. Thank you Paulina Miedzinski and Scott Hayes and also a big thank you to both Sean’s and my sister for their beautiful readings and a poem written by our junior bridesmaid which brought tears to our eyes.
