Inspiration

This stylish duo walks the streets with their wedding party and guests looking absolutely stunning. Moving from their heartfelt ceremony at the jaw-dropping St Bartholemews Church in Smithfield onto the iconic St John's restaurant. Each moment, fashion statement and flower arrangement is documented beautifully by Helen Abraham Photography. It's the perfect start to your slow Sunday.

The Brides Fashion & accessories

I was inspired by Bianca Jagger’s iconic wedding look and wanted to wear something minimal, simple and comfortable. On my first shopping trip with my Mum and sisters I happened to walk past Pleats Please Issey Miyake and found an amazing pleated white dress and jacket along with ice grey matching bridesmaid outfits. I think it hit the record for not only the world’s fastest wedding dress purchase but also one of the smallest, as they fold up really small! I wore white block heels from LOQ for the day and platinum Valentino Tango heels for the evening. My engagement ring, wedding ring and necklace were made by the super talented Maya Magal. I also borrowed a John Donald bracelet and simple diamond stud earrings from my Mum.

The Grooms Fashion & accessories

Jack wore a made to measure suit, by Beggars Run, who are based in Shoreditch and make really stylish suits with beautiful fabrics. The groom's cufflinks and tie were Paul Smith and his shoes were Meermin. Jack’s platinum wedding band was also made by Maya Magal.

The Venue

Our chosen venues reflected our desire to have an intimate wedding that represented us as a couple and also our love of London. The ceremony took place in the oldest church in London, St Bartholomew the Great. This historical setting was a very special place to say our vows. This was followed by food, drinks and dancing around the corner at St John Bar & Restaurant, one of our favourite places to eat in London.

Colour Scheme/Decor

I really wanted a simple, floral theme with muted colours and greenery that would work well with both the historic church and the industrial style of St. John. We also wanted things to feel personal; my sisters and I hand made our invitations with pressed flowers from my grandmother's garden. For the service sheets and thank you cards, we used watercolour pictures my father painted of the church and the restaurant.

Flowers/Florist (bouquets, centerpieces & general decorative arrangements)

The flowers were extremely important to me, as I have always loved flowers and I wanted them to be central in the decoration and theme of the wedding. Our florist, Jam Jar Flowers, really understood my style and also my inspiration, the artist Rebecca Louise Law. They created the most stunning wildflower bouquets for the bridal party, striking candlestick arrangements for the church and hung individual flowers all around the interior of St John.

The Wedding Party Fashion (bridesmaids, flower girls, page boys & groomsmen)

The bridesmaids wore ice grey Pleats Please Issey Miyake dresses and jackets with silver shoes. The groomsmen wore navy suits from Paul Smith and Beggars Run and Paul Smith floral ties. The page boys wore navy H&M Kids jackets and trousers.

Ceremony (readings, any special moments)

We had the most wonderful vicar at St Barts, who really made the ceremony feel very personal and inclusive and struck the right balance between a joyful and ceremonial occasion.

Entertainment (day & evening)

We had the beautiful St Barts choir, organist and ringing bells for the music pre, during and post the ceremony and then at St John we had a DJ, Chris Tindall playing classic tunes and also my brother did a guest set! We had a Polaroid camera station, which we’d really recommend as everyone could capture their own fun moments throughout the evening.

Food (cake, canapés, main menu & desserts)

We love St John for the delicious food, wine and champagne. The long tables and shared platters for dining created a familial, celebratory atmosphere. We started with lots of delicious canapés and St John Blanc de Blanc for the toasts, followed by crispy pigs’ cheek and dandelion, roast Jerusalem artichoke, big fish pies and platters of roast beef for the mains, for pudding we had a delicious blackberry pavlova. My sister made us a three-tiered, raspberry and white chocolate wedding cake, decorated in edible flower petals from Maddox Farm.

Photographer

The photographer was one of the hardest things to choose. We were lucky to find Helen Abraham who not only captured the day in a very natural and beautiful way but is also extremely organised, calm and friendly - exactly what you need in the lead-up and during your wedding day!

Videographer

My Mum’s friend, Lucy Parker, is an extremely talented documentary filmmaker and kindly agreed to capture our day in a beautiful short film. She caught all the moments of the day in a really candid and personal way.
