Inspiration

A rustic wedding at Almonry Barn in Somerset with heaps of DIY decor and personal touches to make this day extra special. Wanting the day to reflect them as a couple, the bride and groom opted for a relaxed affair at the rustic wedding venue. Exposed beams, wooden signs and fairy lights made for a romantic day, with soft pastel bridesmaid dresses and flowers complementing the venue. The bride chose a lace Lillian West wedding dress that fit her like a glove, she looked beautiful with a pinned updo and flower hairpiece! Personal touches were added throughout, even using a lot of their own home decor to fill the venue including a painting of their beloved dog, macrame hanging and Morrocan vases and candles!

What Made Our Day Unique

Our wedding was truly a reflection of us as a couple, relaxed, atmospheric and homely. We wanted to create as much as we could ourselves to give our wedding our personal touch. From the hand-torn water coloured name cards to the welcome sign and table plan, we created these all ourselves. Even our beautiful confetti was painstakingly dried for months by my wonderful aunt! We used lots of our own home décor for decorations, even hung some pictures from our engagement shoot and a painting of our beautiful spaniel Arla! All of these things reflected our style to make our wedding feel unique to us.

Almonry Barn

The beautiful Almonry Barn provided the perfect backdrop for this couple. The Somerset wedding venue has rustic charm in abundance with exposed beams and brickwork adding character to the couples day. The flowers and foliage decorating the barn combined with the gorgeous chandelier and fairy light canopy made for an incredibly romantic and relaxed day!

Inspiration & Styling

We really wanted to create a relaxed and intimate atmosphere for our day and we loved the idea of using the foliage and flowers to make it feel like you were walking into a romantic wild forest surrounded by candlelight. The Almonry has a beautiful simple rustic feel to it with a gorgeous fairy light chandelier which was the perfect setting. The rest of the styling was heavily influenced by the bohemian design of my dress, and we actually used lots of our own home décor for the decorations like the large macramé, the moroccan styled candles and vases. It felt like home from home!
