Planning

If you're having your hen do in the next couple of months, then you might want to share this article with your girls... Especially if the typical hen party ideas don't really appeal to you. Just like with weddings, there aren't any rules when it comes to a hen party, so if you want to celebrate your last days as a single lady with a spa day and afternoon tea rather than a boozy night out - then go ahead. We've compiled some of our favourite ways to party below, including four fabulous themes that could be applied to any type of party... Fancy dress is optional, although very much encouraged by us :)
{Alternative Hen Party Ideas - No Willy Straws Required}
1. Go old-school with a girly sleepover - gift each hen a set of matching PJs, watch endless films and munch popcorn. Have a midnight gossip, drink lots of bubbles in bed and cure your hangovers the following day with pancakes. 2. For the bohemian hearted bride, grab a load of furniture and rugs and take the party outdoors. We'll cross our fingers for good weather for you. Opt for picnic food or a BBQ and serve with Pimms or cold cider for full-on festival vibes. (And hire Bo Chic Events to help make it happen)! 3. Hire a cottage in the country, go on long walks, have a house party and recover with a roast the following day. 4. Make your afternoon tea interactive with a floral workshop - chat while creating something beautiful like a hand tied bouquet or a floral crown. The enjoy sandwiches and cake as a reward for your hard work. 5. If your hen dreamt of going abroad but the budget didn't quite stretch - then bring the sun to her. Rose on ice, sangria on tap, cold beers, whatever floats her boat. Just add cocktail umbrellas and crank up the euro pop.
{Cheap & Simple DIY Decor}
1. Make signs using thick card and boldly coloured Sharpies. Give this job to the guest with the best handwriting or trace over a print out if you want a more professional finish :) 2. Personalised details - we love Wedding In A Teacup for cute details each guest will love. From straws, to mini cake toppers, from totes to compact mirrors, you'll find something to suit your theme. 3. I'm aware this post is all rather pink and fabulous, but if you want things to look a little more elegant - opt for neutral tones like beige and tan. You can always add a little sparkle with metallics to get the party started. 4. Possibly the easiest thing to create ever, grab a black marker pen and a load of balloons and just get creative. There's nothing happier than balloons and they are cheap as chips. 5. To elevate a dinner, simply add candles, flowers and a proper napkin to each place setting. It's not complicated and doesn't involve too much styling prowess but it will make the table look so much more beautiful and inviting.
