Inspiration

When incredible industry talents come together, it's amazing what can be achieved. The wonderful Liz Linkleter planned this elegant, at home wedding in just eight weeks. Calling on the help of some creative industry contacts like Palais Flowers, Kalm Kitchen and Louise from Taylor and Porter, the final result is beautiful and it just goes to show what you can achieve with some hard work and organisation. (And don't forget we have an excellent group of wedding planners on our Recommended Suppliers directory, including the wonderful Liz whose work has featured on RMW numerous times in the past). Amanda looks utterly divine in a structured gown by Jesus Peiro, with it's high neckline and wide bow detail at the waist, it's a totally unique dress and is just so refined and stylish. Look out for the magical raj style tents from The Romantic Tent Company too, such a gorgeous way to keep your guests sheltered.

The Wedding

From Liz Linkleter, Owner & Creative Director, Liz Linkleter Events:We originally met Amanda and Adam to discuss their wedding for the following year. When they came back to us to say they needed to bring it forward to a date just 8 weeks away, it was a big ask – but of course we rose to the challenge. I can now firmly say that anything is possible and having a year or more to plan a wedding now feels like a treat! It was intense but wonderful and I’m so delighted we were able to give them the wedding day of their dreams.

The Styling

When designing their day, we knew we wanted to keep things classically elegant and timeless, but always stylish. The couple have a love of old-school Hollywood glamour and history, so traditional elements were important, but always with a contemporary appeal. The venue was the beautiful gardens of the groom’s family home in Surrey – the perfect setting for an elegantly understated English country wedding. Our colour palette included soft peaches, pinks and creams, with accents of gold, amber and navy. We wanted to create a relaxed and atmospheric garden party feel, with plenty of garden furniture, picnic rugs and cushions for people to chill out on, and a separate lounge tent too. Palais Flowers created beautiful, full and romantic florals, including hanging foliage crowns to go alongside the chandeliers in the marquee.

The Ceremony

The couple married in the local church, where Amanda’s daughters sang ‘Ave Maria’ as she walked down the aisle – a spine-tingling moment! Afterwards guests headed to the house, where we held the drinks reception on the lawns accompanied by a string quartet, with the wedding breakfast to follow in the canvas marquee. As darkness fell, we lit the gardens with magical sparkling lights and flaming torches. The dancing that followed carried on late into the night, punctuated by a surprise fireworks display.
