If Mary Poppins did weddings then this elegant affair would be it, as it's "practically perfect in every way." Every bride should look and feel like a princess on their wedding day and that's exactly how Bride Amy felt and looked in her illusion back, lace Maggie Sottero gown. The fact that the gorgeous celebration took part in a castle too only adds to the magical wonderfulness. London Wedding Photographer Voyteck has captured every smile, every emotion and every detail of this classic wedding and wait until you see the stunning white flowers with hints of blush, your jaws are going to hit the floor. You have been warned, now come and enjoy....

The Dress

Amy The Bride: I had always known I would like a very classic and elegant dress. Something that would take me from the day into the night. As soon as I tried on the Maggie Sottero dress on I knew it was made for me. I loved that the elegance started at the front and continued into the beautiful detailing at the back. The veil was floor length and had crystals scattered throughout which captured the light so beautifully. It completed the look I think. My wonderful Mother, Lynne bought my dress and veil for me, who I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart. I wanted my hair up to show the detailing in the back of the dress but so I could also have a hair clip. My earrings were drop diamonds, and they were my Grandmothers, they are extremely special to me.

The Grooms Fashion

My Groom wanted to wear traditional tails. How could I refuse when it is so classic and timeless. He chose a simple/tailored colour palette which complimented all the Groomsmen.

The Venue

Well there are no words to describe just how amazing Farnham Castle is! I felt like a true princess getting married in a castle. The Gatehouse is the perfect place for the Bridal party to get ready in the morning, with everything you need. Every room is elegant and beautiful, and the traditional features of the grand fireplace and oil paintings in the Great Hall surrounded you with history and nostalgia. The food by Galloping Gourmet was exceptional, and beautifully presented, and the staff were professional, personable and made our day run so smoothly. Breakfast the next day with all your guests in the Library was also such a lovely touch.

Colour Scheme/Decor

We didn't really have or want a colour theme, just simple and elegant throughout. We opted for white, with a touch of blush pink

Florist

The flowers were beyond anything I could of imagined! Hazel from Eden Blooms did the most amazing work and they were honestly the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I wanted white, with lots of foliage and a touch of blush pink. Hazel captured everything I wanted and more. My bouquet was a shower, which was simply beautiful. I also had a picture of my grandfather in a frame, which was tied around the handle. This was a lovely way of him being with me on the day. The centrepieces were a mixture of high Martini glasses and low large fish bowls. All done in a relaxed tied theme. The long and low arrangement on the top table looked so elegant and beautiful. We also had a floral arrangement on the fireplace in the Great Hall and swagging of roses on the staircase by the bar area. Our fabulous Aunty Lesley, as her wedding gift to us paid for the beautiful flowers that filled the castle, which we are eternally grateful for and overwhelmed by her generosity.

Bridesmaids Fashion

The Bridesmaids wore gorgeous blush pink No.1 by Jenny Packham gowns. They were the perfect shade, comfortable and complimented everyones shape and size.

Ceremony

My best friend and Maid of Honour, read a lovely poem ‘On your wedding day’ which was filled with love and well wishes for married life. Every moment during the ceremony was special, when we became husband and wife! Before the ceremony my Father gave me a vintage Cartier watch as a reminder of our wedding day which was beautiful and extremely generous! I also gave Charlie a watch, with our wedding date engraved on the back.

Entertainment

During the ceremony and the drinks reception we had a wonderful harpist Luisa from Last Minute Musicians, as we wanted to have an instrument which was fitting with the venue. It was perfect and the music filled the ceremony room! In the evening we had a DJ. He had played at a friends wedding a few years ago and was so popular we had to have him at ours. The dance floor was full all night!

Food

The food was exceptional. All our guests commented on how delicious it was and how it was beautifully presented, which is was. The canapes during the drinks reception were bitesize but packed with flavour, they included mini beef burgers, smoked salmon blini and mozzarella, parma ham and basil pesto skewers. The main menu was- Terrine of braised ham hock, chicken and bacon with red onion marmalade. Roast Rump of Lamb, dauphinois potatoes and rosemary jus. A trio of desserts, followed by 3 Local cheese with chutney and biscuits. The castle were amazing in accommodating all our different dietary requirements as well! Our wedding cake by Bellissimo Cakes was simple and elegant, and was the most delicious cake we have ever eaten! We both had a tier made up of our favourite flavours. Mine was was Lemon Sponge and Charlie’s was Carrot and Walnut.

Photographer

Voyteck is a GENIUS! There is no other way to describe him. The photographs of our day blew everyone away and reduced me to tears. He was there from the morning it all started right up until the party was in full swing. Voyteck really did capture the essence of our dream day from behind the lens. Including every tear, laughter, private and personal moment. He showed us exactly what the day was for, us and everyone. UTTERLY PERFECT.
