Inspiration

You know when something is so good you can't stop looking, this is exactly how I feel about this intimate London wedding. Each moment captured by Babb Photo will have you ooh-ing and ahh-ing, especially when you clock bride Amy's peach oversized bouquet by Palais Flowers. Talk about flower goals. The Asylum never ceases to amaze us, and I love the contrast of its moody, atmospheric interior for the wedding ceremony to the wonderful light and airy Brockwell Lido for the reception. The Travelling Gin Company bike was there for the ride too, and everybody looks like they are having the best time. I certainly wish I could have listened to the speeches judging by all those beautiful candid photographs.

Our Story

Amy the Bride: We met 9 years ago at university, and got together in our first term. We got engaged back at our college in Oxford `18 months ago. We wanted to buy a flat before getting married, so started planning the wedding about 6 months before the day.

My mum made my wedding dress which was amazing. She did such a great job!

Venue

We wanted to do everything local - i.e in South East London. We loved the Asylum and when we spoke to them they only has one slot left, which was in the week of my birthday, so we thought we had to go for it! Brockwell Lido is just such a cool place, and really laid back. We wanted to avoid having anything that was too "weddingy", and instead have it feel much more like a party!

Ceremony

Our ceremony was the shortest option we could go for, we wanted to get it over with and get on with the celebrations!

Colour Scheme/Decor

Peach, mint with a clean graphic aesthetic.

Florist

When I saw the flowers on the day I was absolutely amazed - they were so beautiful! We wanted lots of big blooms with lots of orange tones. Palais Flowers did a brilliant job. My bouquet was huge!

Photography

We're so happy we went with Babb Photo. We did loads of research as we knew we wanted to get the photography right. We particularly wanted a relaxed style of photo that really captured the day, rather than lots of posed shots. Laura (and Pete!) fitted in brilliantly, and the photos are wonderful.

Entertainment

We hadTravelling Gin Company G&Ts after the ceremony https://www.the-tgc.com/. We made our friends promise to start dancing so we wouldn't have to do a first dance. The day went by in such a blur, we loved it all! But, if I could change anything I would probably have it a little less hot - it was a boiling day!
