Jackie and Bernie gathered all their family and friends at the stunning Askham Hall for a wedding weekend. Starting with tapas and sangria on Thursday evening, a picnic on the lawn on Friday, and culminating in their heartfelt wedding on Saturday. They said their I do at the nearby church before heading back to Askham Hall's barn for an elegant reception filled with fairy lights, taper candles, rustic details and wax seal escort cards. Jackie also wowed us in a Sassi Holford wedding dress and jewel belt combo. Now, get comfortable, because in the words of Aerosmith you don't want to miss a thing!
What Made Our Day Unique
We had gathered our friends and family from the Thursday evening before the wedding so everyone had bonded by the Saturday. We had tapas and sangria on Thursday night, Friday was a picnic and lawn games during the day and a bbq in the evening (and the rain did not dampen anyone's spirits). Most of our guests stayed on Sunday too and we took them out on the lake for some lunch before heading back for an Italian feast. Many of our friends and family stayed in the house with us or in nearby cottages. We wish we could make it an annual event.
Askham Hall
We've shared some beautiful weddings at Askham Hall over the years. The infamous barn reception with fairy lights and beautiful gardens always makes for the most incredible backdrop for photographs. Behind the lens today was the talented Helen Russell Photography, who managed to capture all the love and details styled by Tebbey & Co. perfectly. Make sure you get your pinning fingers ready because there are so many inspiring details you'll want to incorporate into your own big day. We're already eyeing up the wax seal escort cards.
Inspiration & Styling
Elegant, with all of the little details accounted for and FUN!! We wanted people to have fun all weekend so we put together some gorgeous itineraries with the help of our friend Kerri who handled all of our stationery. This way everyone knew what was going on and where to be so that they could relax and enjoy the weekend. One of our favourite moments was looking around the room at everyone having a great time.
Music was a big part of Jackie and Bernie's wedding weekend. They had a vocalist/pianist play on Thursday night and an acoustic guitarist on Friday. Plus a Mumford & Sons style band on their actual wedding day.
