Inspiration

If the Groom is a singer at the Opera house, you know the entertainment at the wedding is going to be pretty special...and it definitely was at this Australian wedding. Following their first look in the streets of Melbourne, the couple got married in a stylish city venue surrounded by 75 friends and family, who were treated to champagne on arrival and serenaded by the gorgeous voices of fellow opera singers. The bride looked elegant in a lace detail Demetrios Bridal wedding dress, accompanied by her bridal party who wore white peplum dresses. While the groom donned a classic black and white tuxedo for the occasion changing later into a white dinner jacket. The monochrome feel was carried through the day with contemporary wedding signs and stationery mixed in with the botanical decor and industrial vibes!

WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE

"We elected to serve champagne for guests on arrival and before the ceremony, which was something we were keen on to set the tone and make everyone feel welcome. It was a strategic choice as well – just in case people were kept waiting! We also decided with our photographers to do a “first look” and portrait session before the ceremony. We are so glad we made this choice as it really calmed our nerves and meant we didn’t have to leave our beautiful reception to take photos and were able to simply enjoy once the ceremony was complete. Highly recommend this option!" - Grace & Nick

Autralian Wedding

The Australian wedding took place at a venue called Rupert on Rupert, a warehouse restaurant with an indoor garden in Melbourne city. Softly lit with candles the groom serenaded his new wife as the guests watched on with "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" by Elvis Presley. With Persian rugs, coloured goblets, a semi-naked wedding cake, festoon lighting and botanical plants, this wedding was so romantic!

INSPIRATION & STYLING

"In terms of the aesthetic for the groomsmen and bridal party, we were looking for a classic aesthetic with a modern and minimal edge. We wanted to create an environment where everyone felt comfortable and welcomed; we really wanted to take care of our guests. We wanted it to feel equal parts party and formal occasion." - Grace & Nick

The monochrome colour palette is so simple but so elegant, you can keep it black and white or add pops of colour! We have some more minimalist monochrome inspiration with this industrial-chic shoot for black and white ideas that can stand the test of time while looking modern and stylish! rock my wedding forum
