Kathryn Hopkins is one seriously talented lady. Not only did she style this shoot and make the gorgeous dress Laura is wearing, but she also shot the whole thing too! How many skills can one woman have?! Those of you with beady eyes will recognise model Laura as our new real Bride, who we introduced at lunchtime. Laura blogs over at Tiny Twisst but will be blogging about the truths of wedding planning, warts and all, right here on Rock My Wedding. I love this interpretation of Autumn, focusing on softness and serenity rather than the bold hues we are so used to seeing when it comes to Fall.
Kathryn The Photographer: Walking through an Autumnal Gosfield forest, with all its golden toned leaves, reminded me of poem by Carl Sandburg – Autumn Movement about the changing season. One of my favourite things about living in England is the change in seasons.
I cried over beautiful things knowing no beautiful thing lasts The field of cornflower yellow is a scarf at the neck of the copper
sunburned woman, the mother of the year, the taker of seeds The northwest wind comes and the yellow is torn full of holes,
new beautiful things come in the first spit of snow on the northwest wind,
and the old things go, not one lasts ‘Autumn Movement’ by Carl Sandburg
The location inspired notions of graceful motion, and a serene mood. With the warm glow from the golden leaves, to the mauve tones in the cool November air, my heart literally skipped a beat at the ethereal spirit of the time of year. Everything about this shoot was inspired by the location, its movement, delicacy and colour palette.
