Inspiration

You may think that this wedding was held somewhere exotic, however you'd be mistaken, set in the bride's family garden in the Midlands, a gorgeous bright summer wedding with the bride wearing a bespoke backless wedding dress adorned in heavy sequins! The clearspan marquee provided the perfect setting for this relaxed, fun celebration that included a stunning floral and tassel table plan, bright coral flowers and David Austin roses, a photo booth for the guests, a pinata tree (which was smashed instead of a bouquet toss- great idea) and a huge glitter bar plus so much more! The bride's family (especially mother and aunt!) sourced the decor, from the silver candle sticks, thousands of fairy lights to props for the photo booth, while the bride set about creating illustrations to use for their wedding stationery and signs. Even the wedding sloe gin favours were a labour of love from the bride's mother - save us one!

What Made Our Day Unique

"Having a garden wedding gave us complete control to make the day unique. It’s an unusually shaped garden with different pockets and flowers to explore on various levels so we knew (thanks to my parents gardening) it would create a tropical paradise in the midst of the Peak District! The glass-roof marquee was bespoke to fit the odd shape of the house but it worked and kept the space light, bright and merged within the outdoors. We also went wild with our decorations including a speakeasy late night bar,

kissing booth, huge glitter station and piñata tree." - Ellie & Tony

Backless Wedding Dress

The backless wedding dress was one of the most fun projects of the journey for the bride. Knowing she wanted something bespoke and different, the bride approached Heyami to create a sensational sequin number that fit to perfection. The heavy sequins made the dress super fun and they were even able to create a mini dress for the evening out of the same material! It fitted the fun, party vibe for the day and looked fantastic with the bridesmaids who donned a relaxed look in pink skirts.

Inspiration & Styling

We wanted it to be very individual to us and completely filled with fun and an overall festival-vibe. We wanted to only keep the traditions that made sense to us and go against the usual formula where we could. Visually, we also wanted to make it a luscious garden of Eden with a glass roofed marquee to make the most of the British summer. In terms of decorations, this was an ongoing project over the course of the whole year mainly by my mum and my aunt who managed to find everything from incredible huge candles and silver candle holders for the tables, to thousands of fairy lights for the bushes, to props for the photo booth, to old wood to create signposts with.
