Inspiration

Kerry and Tom's stylish Bali wedding looks like one hell of a party. I get the impression that photographer James Frost has sent us a censored version of events ;) I think things got pretty raucous! But I don't blame them at all - I mean just look at that venue! With the pool and incredible outdoor reception space, this is #destinationweddingoals at it's very finest. I've included one squillion images, because everyone is so gorgeous and fabulous, the decor is amazing and I'm in love the photography too. You really feel like you're living every moment with the couple and their guests. James is actually UK based, although he shoots all over the world, so do contact him if you love the way he captures weddings. Right, let's get stuck in shall we?

Our Story

Kerry The Bride: Tom & I met 5 years ago at a bar in our local area which is the southern beaches of Sydney. We love travelling together and Bali was actually our first overseas holiday as a couple. We fell in love with the island, the Balinese people and its beautiful culture that it became a frequent holiday destination over the years. In 2015 Tom and I went on a 3 month holiday to Europe for my 30th birthday and he proposed a week before my birthday in the beautiful water of La Maddalena, Sardinia Italy. He wanted the proposal to be a surprise and he thought popping the question on my birthday was too predictable so I was completely shocked when he proposed while we were treading water after a long day exploring all the beautiful islands.

Our Bali Wedding

For us, it was a natural choice to get married in one of our favourite parts of the world and everyone who knows us knew how much we loved Bali. There were some hiccups along the way which is expected when planning a wedding in a foreign country, for instance, we had to find a completely new venue 2 months from the wedding and I had to also find a new hair and makeup artist. Despite the stress involved in the planning and the unexpected rain for that time of year in Bali, the wedding came together perfectly. Everything aligned, the new venue was better than the first and even the rain stopped a half an hour before I walked down the aisle. Our wedding was more than we ever dreamed and all 109 guests who flew from all over such as Australia, South Africa could not wipe the smiles off their face for days to come. If there is one word to describe the wedding it would be magical because not only was it a beautiful location but the energy, love and happiness experienced by everyone that day were so genuine and sincere, and I believe it is captured perfectly in the photos by James Frost.
