Inspiration

A Summer celebration at Bassmead Manor Barns with DIY decor, Pronovias wedding dress and navy and gold accents running throughout. The couple became husband and wife in front of their close friends and family in a rustic barn ceremony. Pimms drinks were on the menu next as everyone soaked up the sun and amazing atmosphere in the perfectly manicured gardens of the Cambridgeshire wedding venue. With lots of tasty treats, a cookie wall (baked by the bride herself!) and popcorn stand to name a few, the contemporary wedding cake was definitely a highlight! The table centerpieces were nostalgic photos of the couple, hung from trees that sat alongside the hand-stitched table numbers, the DIY decor definitely made it a personal affair! And all this was captured by the extremely talented We are // The Clarkes!

What Made Our Day Unique

The Rickety Barn at Bassmead has this really magical, cosy feel to it and that set the tone for the day for us. We wanted a day that felt intimate, special and completely ‘us’, which meant a relatively small wedding so we could take in every moment with every person. Everything just felt absolutely incredible. We were so lucky to be working with so many talented suppliers and everything they did was fantastic and fit into this intimate, magical, elegant setting, so it all came together into this beautiful, love-filled day.

Bassmead Manor Barns

Bassmead Manor Barns is a rustic country retreat in Cambridgeshire and couldn't have been a more perfect place for this couple to say their vows. The rustic barn for the ceremony was decorated in white flowers, twinkly fairy lights and candle lanterns that lined the aisle. Followed by courtyard drinks (Pimms of course!) and a wedding breakfast reception that had a navy theme running throughout, from the stunning contemporary wedding cake to the cupcake wedding favours!

Inspiration & Styling

The words we used most often were ‘romantic elegance’ - we didn’t want things to feel overly formal but nor did we want to be too casual. Our suppliers did really beautiful work, making sure that everything looked natural and elegant at the same time; for example not forcing flowers to sit in a particular way but allowing them to fall in a way that showed off how gorgeous they were. We built a lot around the colours of navy, cream and gold - partly inspired by some materials Madi had lying around to embroider our table numbers!
