Inspiration

This beautiful BBQ wedding is the ultimate summer celebration, combining everyone's favourite al fresco dining option with a gorgeous secret garden ceremony. Ghost chairs, a sweetheart table and an off-the-shoulder Pronovias wedding dress all feature, alongside perspex signs and the prettiest florals. There's also some incredibly sweet and personal captures, from the reaction of an emotional guest seeing the blushing bride walk down the aisle to the cutest flower girl playing Jenga. Oh, and did we mention the appearance of the Red Arrows? This is the sort of summer day we all dream of.

Inspiration Behind The Styling

Our venue, The Old Rectory, has a ‘secret garden’, which gave us the intimate feeling we wanted and was perfect for our day as we had less than 50 guests. The styling was all about enhancing what was already such a beautiful space and our inspiration came from the things we love to do together. When we first met, we bonded over our mutual love of cinema, so all our tables were named after places in movies, our photobooth came with a replica hoverboard, and we had popcorn on our cake. We also wanted to make the most important part of our day, the ceremony, as visually beautiful as the occasion itself. The acrylic ghost chairs and perspex signs added a modern edge and worked perfectly.

Victoria & Oli

BBQ Wedding

Victoria & Oli love a BBQ - who doesn't! - and so hosting a BBQ wedding was always going to be the optimal option for them. And how divine their day turned out to be. After an outdoor ceremony under an exquisite garland-draped arch, guests enjoyed drinks and games on the lawns, followed by the BBQ feast, which allowed everyone to eat as much or as little as they wanted. (And who are we kidding, more is always more at a BBQ!) The newlyweds sat together at a sweetheart table, which they admit was one of the best decisions they made, whilst their guests perched prettily on ghost chairs, which I must admit is one of my new favourite wedding décor trends.

Favourite Moment Of Our Day

The ceremony meant everything to us. You completely forget there's all these people staring at you because it feels like you are the only two people there in that moment. The speeches were beautiful and so overwhelming; there were a lot of tears in the room. The most unexpected – and unplanned! – moment was when the Red Arrows arrived. We'd just finished our food when they flew over our venue and drew a heart in the sky. It was one of those moments we couldn't have predicted or ever have expected, and yet it actually happened! We'll never forget it.
