Planning

Now it may be absolutely freeeeezing here in the UK, but the arrival of Spring is imminent. And with it, hopefully some warmer weather. Which can only mean one thing - flowers. It's such a wonderful time of year to create floral arrangements as everything is so fresh and vibrant. In our book, Your Day Your Way, written by our founder Charlotte O'Shea, we created a double page spread for each season to show you which blooms you'll be able to use for your big day. Today we're sharing the Spring bouquets here on RMW.
Embracing The Yellows
Could there be a more Spring like colour than yellow? The first blooms to show their cheery heads at the end of the Winter are the daffodils and I personally LOVE them in a bouquet. My favourites are the tiny white ones with yellow centres, but do chat to your florist to find out which ones will work best for your bouquet.

Block Colour Bouquets
A big trend for this year is a return to bouquets of all one colour - we keep the unstructured style that has been favoured of late, but for 2018 it's all about block colour bouquets. This purple toned beauty uses delicate clematis, sweet peas, bluebells and even hyacinth for an arrangement that's striking in texture as well as colour. If you don't want your flowers to scream 'Spring' (or indeed any season) then opting for a foliage based bouquet is a great idea.

Pastels vs Bolds
Romantic pastel lovers can rejoice as Spring is the best time to create a blousy, flower filled bouquet. Hold off until late Spring for early roses, the start of peony season and sweet peas by the bucket load. If you prefer bold blooms then worry not, sweet peas come in every shade under the sun and you can turn to trusty ranunculus for a rose like flower that's readily available in the Spring.

These gorgeous bouquets were created by the wonderful Emily Wisher, who you'll find on our list of Recommended suppliers. If you're looking for a florist who is equal parts talented and lovely then that's where to find them! And if you haven't already got it, then you can purchase our book, Your Day Your Way on Amazon and in all good book shops.
