A wedding that has a sign "Boozin' Schmoozin' & Groovin' this way" sign is definitely a celebration that I want to attend. And the fact that it was in a PapaKåta Sperry tent in the Bride's parents garden, full of rustic DIY decor, homebaked cakes, and homegrown florals makes it even more fabulous and special. The chic country vibe is completed with stylish maids in powder blue dresses, a bowtie wearing groom and a truly stunning bride in an exquisite beaded Jenny Packham gown. Plus a whole host of wonderful food trucks and treats, from afternoon tea, to artisan pizza and ice-cream. An absolute feast for the senses from start to finish.

The Dress

Becki the Bride: I really wanted a Bohemian look for my wedding dress and had seen Jenny Packham dresses before and knew she was the designer for me. The Necklace was my something borrowed from my mum and my hair was expertly crafted at Infinity Ilkley.

The Grooms Fashion

Ali the Groom: Finding a suit seemed relatively easy for me, I had spent a long time looking at suits online and had decided on a blue suit. I found the suit on the Next website and ordered it. The traditional morning suit and top hat didn’t really fit into our wedding theme and wasn’t really our style so had decided on a two piece lounge suit that I could wear again and again. For the Groomsmen we went for contrasting grey suits from TM Lewin. I struggled to find nice ties that fitted in with our theme, until I stumbled across Mrs Bow Tie They had so many to choose from, and to stand out from the groomsmen I decided to wear a bow tie. The shoes were Loake which were bought from the a local menswear shop Eric Spencer.

The Venue

  Becki the Bride: The venue was the easy part of the wedding as we got married in the family church in Addingham and held the reception at my parents’ house. The difficult part was choosing the tent. We had initially decided on a tipi from PapaKåta but when PapaKata brought the Sperry tents straight from the Hamptons we knew we wanted one for our wedding. There was a lot of work in the weeks before the wedding carried out my father in law, his best friend and myself to turn an unloved farmer’s field into a field fit for a wedding.

Colour Scheme/Decor

The colour scheme was pastels and we wanted to keep the décor simple and not over the top. The main thing we wanted was a real homemade feel to the whole event. In the end we couldn’t have pulled off such an amazing wedding without the help of a lot of friends and family. All the build-up and preparation for the wedding all added to the experience and made it all more special.

Flowers

The flowers at the church and wedding arch were all done by the lovely ladies at academy florist but the all the flowers in the Sperry and on the table were all home grown and put together by friends.

The Wedding Party Fashion

We only had one flower girl who was a family friend’s daughter (7), she took her job very seriously and fell in love with the best man.

Ceremony

The readings were all done by the vicar and the bride and groom left to the ‘Arrival of the Queen of Sheba’.

Entertainment

The entertainment was provided during the day by students from the Leeds College of Music. We had a female singer with guitar playing under a tree when the guests arrived and a harpist during afternoon tea. In the evening we hired a band we found online and a friend DJ and kept the party going till the early hours.

Food

The food was a big part of the day, we started when the guests arrive at the wedding field with champagne cocktails and ice creams served from a VW camper. We wanted to stay away from the formal wedding breakfast so we decided on a vintage afternoon tea. In the evening we had pie and peas served by Cobble Kitchen in there Citron H van called Marcel. We also had stone baked pizza served by the slice from another Citron H van this time called Hettie. Finally we had a hog roast cooked by the local farmer.

Photographer

Jane was brilliant, her style is so natural and beautiful. On the day she blended and effortlessly captured the day. We both loved the pictures that she took and has created a keep sake that we have forever.

Videographer

The way Leanne managed to capture the magic of the day was great, we had watched some of her videos on her website and after meeting her knew that she was the right fit for our wedding. It has been lovely to look back in the day and remember the little details that only a video captures.

Unique Aspects

In the tent we had standard round tables for the guests and no head table as we wanted a bride and groom table. Having our own table allowed us to have a bit of ‘us time’ and allowed to sit back and take in a lot more, would definitely recommend this. Huge thanks need to go to all the friends and family who helped create our perfect handmade wedding. From the hundreds of metres of bunting that we made to line the lane and tent to the prepping the field and arranging the flowers. We planned all the wedding our self but when it came to running the big day we got in Lindsay from LW Event who took the stress away from the whole day and was the best decision we made, she was fantastic.
