Let me start by saying this wedding took place in sun-filled Ibiza. Seriously, the backdrop is epic.
Then I’ll tell you about the gold Kula Tsurdiu sheer dress, swathes of shimmering lace over a 1950’s jumpsuit. Yes, also epic.
Then I’ll mention the bridesmaids gowns (so many sequins! so much chic!) Becky’s sexy Jimmy Choos and the fact the bride’s sister is a wedding planner who came up with the theme “Boho glitter”….
Can I use the word epic again?
Becky The Bride: As a non-traditional person with a love for unique style I could never imagine myself as the traditional white bride walking the church aisle and my thoughts were certainly confirmed as I spent hours trying on many different styles of white wedding dresses , nothing felt quite right nor did I feel like me and I was feeling defeated “ will I ever find my perfect dress” eventually after several months of looking I realised my dream dress just did not exist and the only way was to work with a designer and dress maker to create my perfect gown and finally what was in my head I could bring to life. After a short internet search I came across a designer called Kula Tsurdiu who had a small wedding boutique in Nottingham Lace Market – after making my first appointment with Kula and spending a couple of hours designing my dress I finally new this was the one and Kula was the one to make it for me. I decided on a champagne Italian Lace with hint of gold glitter through the design and from there my dress took shape, as I was getting married in Ibiza I decided on a low v neck style complimented with a v back and went for a gold silk 1950’s jumpsuit underneath which was bang on trend with the sheer look that was all over the catwalks. I finished my look with a classic champagne floor length veil, gold glitter Swarovski earrings and must have gold glitter Jimmy Choo stilettos.
The Grooms Attire
The Grooms brief was very simple a well fitted three piece suit with a splash of colour finished off with some sharp shoes and cool accessories, all in a budget! The Groom decided on dark royal blue suit which we found at a bargain price from the high street retailer River Island and to finish the look he teamed it up with shiny Jeffery West brogues giving at that edge he wanted . Accessories needed to be bright as the suit was quite dark for a summer wedding so he decided on a fresh bright yellow tie a pink pocket square with some cool accessories including a pocket watch, tie pin and of the course the mirrored sun glasses!!
We knew instantly we wanted to get married in the beautiful Island of Ibiza, we had been going there for many years as a family and with a Wedding Planner Sister working on the island it made perfect sense, along with the vibe and style it was perfect for us!! My Sister introduced me to several venues but I fell in love with the beautiful Elixir Shore Club, it’s a perfect blend of old and contempory Ibiza with simply breathtaking views overlooking Cala Codolar beach. I loved the clean white lines, styling, setting and vibe of the whole venue – and Vickki the owner who was the perfect host! It was really was to die for. Leah (Planner/Sister) plans lots of weddings at Elixir also so it was great to have all of her experience to help and guide us.
With a love for interior design I really went to town on the décor and did not hold back on anything/It was exactly as we imagined. We loved the idea of a Boho theme with a twist and came up with “Boho Glitter” A rustic bohemian feel with a hint of glamour. For our ceremony we chose a wooden rustic arch draped in a mixture of foliage, wood, grasses and flowers, the flowers set the arch to life with fusia pinks, greens and blues to give that real Boho feel, the ceremony aisle was lined with clusters of old wine bottles filled with foilage and grasses giving that rustic edge this worked perfectly with the floating fabrics floating in the wind from the chairs. Our reception area was filled full of bottles covered in gold glitter and we used white feathers dipped in gold for our name cards and feature tree that gave a real statement piece mixed with fairy lights. Our tables where dressed with gold glitter sequin table cloths and again we mixed this with rustic woods and old wine bottles to create our centre pieces – it was important to feel this space with flowers, grasses and candles to give the feel we wanted.
After speaking with my Sister Leah from Your Wedding Angel we decided that we wanted something a bit quirky with the flowers and wanted to bring in the Boho feel.
So Sse recommended Bud & Bloom which is the florist that works only for Elixir Shore Club.
We wanted to bring in the bright colours so used Pink Dahlias dotted on the gazebo and the tables, then more of a rustic feel with lots of grasses and twigs.
The bouquets was very different and I loved it. The Bridesmaids had just a selections of foilage and grasses as I didn’t want any flowers as they had them on there headpieces.
We used simple white roses for the headbands and we asked for the BIGGEST ones they had for the full impact.
For the tables, we used wooden candlesticks, gold sprayed vases , a few dahlias and grasses. It gave the impact that I wanted and worked so well against the glitter tablecloths and runners.
The Wedding Party Fashion
It was important the wedding party continued our theme so we went for short, long sleeve gold glitter Bridesmaid dresses, we didn’t want anything traditional so this was perfect! We teamed the bridesmaid dresses with huge white flower crowns to give the Bohemian effect and with the grasses as bouquets this worked perfectly- they looked unbelievable. Flowers girls were wearing gold dresses from Monsoon again with a hint of glitter and the page boys I wanted to look cool and relaxed so the green chinos and shirt were the right choice – and of course a bright yellow dickie bow to match the grooms tie.
We went for a real casual vibe for our Groomsmen as we wanted them to be comfortable and it made sense with the heat of Ibiza. The Groomsmen wore chinos. braces and a combination of dickie bows and ties – all bright colours matching the theme and colours of our flowers!!
Our ceremony we wanted to be relaxed, romantic and intimate and it certainly was that with the stunning views, we didn’t want anything to serious or stuffy. We chose our vows carefully and loved how relaxed the whole ceremony experience was in Ibiza, we chose the Brides best friend ,Grooms Sister and Brides Son to do our readings which made every word extremely meaningful to us and there were a lot of tears shed!
Music was important to us. We had La Di Dah play as guests arrived and she sang an amazing version of Diamonds by Rhianna as I walked down the aisle and then they played for the aperitif.
Lovely Laura on sax played chilled vibe music on the beach for us as we watched the sun nearly set ( it got lost behind a cloud ) and then she played with the resident DJ steve in the evening all the current dance tunes. It made an AMAZING atmosphere and the dance floor was never empty.
As Vickki (elixir owner) is a close friend of my Sister’s she decided to do a completely bespoke menu for us. Elixir is known for its spectacular food and they didn’t disappoint. People are still talking about the food now and the dessert buffet was a WOW factor.

Maria Simon from Marnosuite did our photos. Leah gave me a few to choose from and she seemed to match our style perfectly. Relaxed and fun. She was great on the day and even stayed a few hours longer for us.
With the Grooms Mother not able to make the wedding due to a fear of flying it was very important to capture our day and have something to look back on and remember all those special moments. After searching the internet looking for someone with a creative edge to capture our perfect day we came across a local company to us called Perfect Moment Films based in Nottinghamshire, after meeting them and going through our brief they were a great match and really understood us and what we wanted to achieve – we booked them there and then and 6 weeks later they were flying out to ibiza. They were a fantastic team and captured every moment of a special day and they really bought into the vibe and style of Ibiza which reflected in their work.
I started off with so many ideas and my head was spinning. Sitting down with Leah our planner gave us a great focus and we concentrated on what was important to us as a couple.
I would recommend getting married abroad as all our guests and us felt so relaxed and we had things planned before and after the weddings o everyone got very close and had the best time.
My biggest bit of advice is be yourself and trust your style.
