HELL YES to this. Bee is a girl after our own hearts. We love her and Danny's festival inspired, music filled, campsite wedding - it has truly put a smile on our faces this afternoon. There's nothing we love more than dancing the night away under the stars. Especially when there's a Sperry Tent from Papakata, a pizza van and copious amounts of Champagne involved...
Our Wedding
Bee the Bride: The idea was to have a magical midsummer country wedding filled with food, booze, and fun that turned into a wild rock & roll party when it turned dark, and went on all weekend. We got married in my village church in the heart of the Somerset countryside, and were lucky enough to rent the incredible land and barn off a local farmer. We have some very creative and musical friends so imagined, built and performed a lot of the wedding ourselves.The Bride
My dress was from The Mews in Notting Hill and I only ever looked at Rime Arodaky dresses. After being terrified of wearing a wedding dress I fell in love with all her designs with their 60/70s edge.The Flowers
The country garden bouquets and wax-flower headdresses were made by The Walled Garden in Mells. They also supplied buckets of cut flowers that my friends and family made the amazing ‘up-and over’ for the church door, pew ends and Sutcliffe jars of posies for the tables.The Reception
We hired the incredible Sperry Tent from Papakata Tents for the reception, which was perfect as we could open up all the sides which made us feel like we were having an open air feast. The beautiful cherry blossom trees were made by chopping down 6 silver birches in the spring, storing them for 6 months in my mum’s shed, and then hand-making and tying 1500 mini pom poms onto the trees! And as we had the most incredible view over the valley hired a row of festival flags to run along the hill side, and made the boys carry down two old pianos that were found in the barn for people to jam on.Evening Party
For the evening we wanted lots of fire, cider, sparklers, pizzas and 7” records. And as the sun went down we opened up the barn for the evening party which was styled by our best friends at Rodeo Events, and filled with disco balls, a cocktail bar, glow-sticks and lots of live music. And everyone passed out in the amazing bell tent village that was put up by Wow Tents. On the Sunday we had a Survivors Breakfast food truck (again by Rodeo Events), followed by the Hungover games, lots more dancing and outdoor cinema under the stars.
