Inspiration

Prepare to feel all fuzzy inside as Bride and Groom Beth and Paul have a wonderful celebration at Angrove Park in Great Ayron in a PapaKåta tipi. The site looks amazing full of rustic decor and details. My favourite being the boat of booze and the mini wheel barrow table plan. Everybody looks a vision in lace and tweed, perfect for the outdoor country vibes and the golden hour portrait pictures by Matt Penberthy are off the chart adorable. With SO many more personal touches and fun filled moments to swoon over, you're going to enjoy this lovely ones.

Location

Paul the Groom: We got married at St John Baptist Church in Egglescliffe village, on the outskirts of Yarm. Beths family have a close connection with this Church as they have held several weddings and Christenings here over the years and both her Gran and Grandad have a headstone here.

Transport

The transport from the Church to the Reception was an amazing London routemaster bus for the guests (Wensleydale Omnibus). This included our names on the front and the driver and conductor in corresponding vintage attire. Our wedding car was a VW camper van (allCool Camper)

Bride

The brides dress was Pronovias which was from Laura Day in Middlesbrough. Shoes were Carvela.

Groom

The Grooms Jacket and waistcoat were Gibson London and along with tie which was from Psyche Middlesbrough. Trousers were from Next and shoes from John Roca.

Wedding Party

Bridesmaids and Flower girl’s dresses were from Etsy and were multi-way dresses. The Pageboys outfits, were from trousers from H&M and shirts from Next. The braces and bowties were ordered from Etsy. The groomsmen waistcoats were Gibson London, trousers were Next and shoes John Roca.

Venue

The Reception was at Angrove Park near Great Ayton, which is a campsite complete with glamping huts for the guests and a great blank canvas to put our personal touches on. It included a double decker bus for the bar, a separate Gin bar, great views of the North Yorkshire hills and firepits for late at night. The honeymoon suite was an amazing double decker bus, fully kitted out with kitchen and living area and a hot tub outside. Katherine our wedding co-ordinator was great, she made the day flow seamlessly.

Tipi

We hired Tipi’s from PapaKåta after viewing many at open days. We liked the look of the Marquee’s but the tipis just had the rustic, homemade wedding sort of feel we wanted for the day. We picked them also for the furniture they offer. The exposed wooden tables( table cloths and chair covers aren’t our thing), indoor firepits and the opportunity to put our own unique stamp on decorating it. (Which we went all out on!)

Flowers

The flowers were by ‘Flowers by Michaela’ we wanted a lot of wildflowers and lavender (very simple) and used vines for the signs also. The central 3 metre flower ring inside the tipi was a masterpiece! The wheelbarrow with the table names in looked beautiful, we had milk churns either side of the entrance with lavender which was so simple but looked amazing and she also made a flower crown for our lovely niece.

Decor

Paul spent a long time creating the homemade signs (Beer boat, plan of the day, Dale Wedding) and a friend made the unbeliveable boat from scratch, the flowers and haybales really made it too. These all really added to the rustic, festival theme we were going for. We created a pallet with all the guests on at a happy time, for them to pick themselves out and a picture frame of all the guests who were sadly not able to make it. We named the table names after places we have visited as we love to travel, we used log slices and twigs to hold the polaroids in place to fit in with our theme. We had plenty of kids at the wedding too and made sure there was entertainment for them all day. We had a load of garden games for them and created kids packs with sweets and personalised ‘Dale wedding’colouring in books to keep them occupied. The weather also made the day what it was, beautifully sunny with a slight breeze. It rained the day before and the day after, so someone was looking down on us.

Food

Food was supplied by the Masham in Hartburn, Stockton. The owner John couldn’t have been more passionate about catering for us and the taster we went to beforehand could have catered for about 20! The service they gave to all our guests was amazing and the food was second to none, even creating a full gluten free, veggie and kids menu. Canapes- Waldorf salad cups, Parmesan Goujeres with cream cheese, Mini chicken satay, Tomato & Goats cheese bruschetta with goats cheese cream, Smoked salmon croque mademoiselle. BBQ- Beefburger,Pork & Chilli sausage, Tandoori chicken & king Prawn skewers Served with Garlic & rosemary new potatoes. Red coleslaw, Greek salad, Penne pasta with sunblushed tomatoes, pesto & toasted pinenuts. Mixed leaf salad. Dessert- White chocolate blondie served with white chocolate ice cream and raspberry compote Evening Buffet- Homemade pate, Homemade scotch eggs with runny yolk, Homemade sausage rolls with chorizo, selection of cheeses, onion marmalade, savoury jams, chutneys, apples, grapes, crackers, rustic breads and butter.

Cake

The cake was from Jenshouse of Cake It was a three tier cake which consisted of Mint chocolate (Paul insisted), lemon & vanilla. We went for a naked cake which looked incredible and tasted even better.

Photographer

Our Photographer, Matt Penberthy was our number one choice as seen as we seen his incredible work on Instagram. He really was amazing throughout the day and made us feel like he wasn’t there. The photos we received back are perfect and the way the photos arrived was so personalised and unique!

Videography

The videographer was Absolute Media. Again after watching their videos online we knew we needed to book them and they didn’t disappoint. The wedding video has made many guest cry including ourselves!

Entertainment

Our wedding band was the Funk Collective, after seeing them live quite a few times we were so happy to hear they were free on our wedding date. They learnt our first dance especially (Jack Johnson- Better together) and it is stuck firmly in our memories forever. Go see them! The DJ was from Magnum Entertainment and he was so involving with the guests, just our sort of DJ. He even got up dancing at one point and put us all to shame.
