Blush Pink, Romantic, Country Wedding Inspiration at Tithe Barn, Dorset

Darima Frampton: The inspiration for this shoot came from a sketch of a wedding dress by the talented Catherine Thorneycroft, which really captured my imagination and around which I wove a story of love and possible intrigue! We show snippets of the dress being designed by an unknown artist, then we see the bride readying herself at her dressing table and donning the dress. We then show the bride writing a love letter moments before her wedding, but to who we don’t know. It could be to her groom or perhaps it’s one last letter to a lover… the artisan who designed the dress? The story then moves onto show a happy ending with the civil service, champagne, and tables laid up for dinner in readiness for the celebration. I knew I wanted to shoot something with a storyline, which allowed me to utilise the talents of these amazing suppliers and the barn provided a blank canvas to do this. Caroline and Elke of Amazing Face Hair and Makeup suggested Jessica as an ideal model and followed the brief perfectly giving her a soft natural look and a tousled ‘up do’. I then left her in the hands of the professional team at Bridal Reloved who provided the most dreamy dress with delicate lace bodice and swishing skirt. I’d wanted a very soft look to the shoot, using natural light and creating a dreamy feel and Darima’s stunning photography style leant itself to this project. Harry from Plato Films backed it up with a video which can be seen on any of his social sites.

Blush Pink Colour Scheme & Wedding Flowers

I had chosen a pastel colour palette with blush roses and frilly Ranunculus, incorporating navy accents of the center of the seasonal Anemones. Wild foliage was used to create movement in the pieces and compliment the rustic nature of the barn and Lucy of Forget-me-not Vintage hire used some of her collection of china, glassware, and props to dress the scene.

Wedding Cake

The lovely ladies at the Angel Cake Company designed an elegant bespoke wedding cake to tie in with the theme. The exquisite vintage peices came from Heirlooms Jewellery. The hand made hair accessories from Nancy and Flo and the soft coloured silks hand dyed by Alison of Border Cottage Flowers added a touch of luxury. Oakleaf Marquees kindly provided the chairs and fantastic oversized crystal chandelier, that I couldn’t resist hanging low over their rustic table, playing with the contrasting textured materials. It was important to continue the vintage theme throughout and the swirling hand calligraphy by Gemma Milly echoed a bygone era in the stationery.
