Bohemian Rhapsody.

I think someone needs to have a word with whoever controls the weather around here.

This afternoon however we’re bringing you sunshine – LOTS of it. And a slightly different real wedding feature in that we are focussing on the film of the beautifully bohemian W-day of List member Binky Nixon created by RMW Sponsor Ben at Kissing Gate.

Binky’s super pretty affair has already featured in various publications but in light of Becky’s recent (and uber popular) “Regrets” post we thought we’d share with you the full moving action as it were….

Plus there is the most immense Matthew Williamson frockage going on, and who doesn’t need some glitter on a cold and blustery Friday?

Of course if you do want to see more of the stunning stills you can pop on over to photographer Marianne Taylor’s blog.

Binky Nixon:Obviously when planning my own wedding I was pretty well connected to source some amazing peeps. Being in the industry and being a photographer, stills and film were obviously very important to me. I lost my Dad nearly 10 years ago and I have no moving footage of him. I know what weddings involve, the rare gathering of all the people you love the most.

For me a film was a must as I know in years to come some of those people sadly won’t be here anymore. On film you get to see the expressions, the way someone holds them self, they way they walk and if they throw their head back when they laugh.

I still remember the first time Ben text me to say he posted a film on facebook and wanted my opinion. I had no idea it was ours! Off I trundled to have a look and had total goosebumps when i saw the title frame. I don’t even know how to write this next sentence, how to sum up how that film makes me feel. I watch it and smile, I feel like i am there all over again. I can smell the flowers, feel the sun on my face and feel the love from everyone in that barn. Ben was given a gift when he arrived on earth and that was to capture all of this. To tell peoples stories in the most magical way possible. He didn’t miss a single thing, what we ate, what we drunk, the people we love, our gorgeous pooch but most of all how we feel about one another.

Every time I watch the film I smile and cry all at the same time, it brings back amazing memories of what is by far the best day of my life. Ben will never know how grateful we both are for our film, for getting us, what is important to us and putting it all together in the most beautiful way.

Iv just watched it again whilst writing this and I am off, teary but oh so happy, its beautiful and I love it so much! Thanks Ben x

  1. Oh. My. Goodness. Not only do I absolutely love Binky’s style but that party after the wedding looked IMMENSE. Just out of curiosity, what song was their first dance? They had the BEST dance x

  2. This wedding is “AHH-MAAAAAZE-ING”!!!! Quite possibly the most beautiful bohemian style wedding I’ve ever seen!

I don’t know where to begin… from the dresses, to Dazzy’s suit, to the reception styling and colour scheme. Seriously, this couldn’t be more perfect!

Huge congratulations to Binky & Dazzy!!!!

  5. Everything about this wedding is just beautiful! I adore the flowers, the floral crown, the dress, the car, the bicycles, the colours and how blooming happy everyone looks! Stunning photographs and a stunning film x

  6. And THIS is why we have booked Binky and Ben for our very own nuptials. The creativity and attention to detail of the wedding reflects Binky’s work. And Kissing Gate vid provide an EPIC account of what looked to be a simply gorgeous day.

Excited for our wedding and all emotional watching this vid. I think I need to go and lie down.

  7. Omg I’m a complete mess!

This is how our wedding looks like in my dreams! Right down to the colour scheme, the decorations and the lovely atmosphere of the day! Fingers crossed we can make it even a tiny bit as beautiful as this! Xxx

  8. This wedding has always been one of my favourites but this video just utterly takes my breath away. I have never even wanted a videographer but this makes me scream YOU IDIOT WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT ONE!

  9. well isnt this just gorgeous?!!

Having a little cry to myself at the video. @Alice – i was wondering that too @Binky, what was your first dance? xx

  10. It still brings a tear to my eye when I watch this. I feel really humbled that complete strangers have shown such love for our wedding, thank you. Our first dance was Do you love me, by the Contours.

  11. ERR WOW!!!!

    Literally ridiculously AMAZING!!!!!!!

Flowers, dress, bride, groom, CAR, bikes, guests, decorations, details, in any order this wedding is PERFECTION!!!!

Did you guys make those burgers, pie and mash stands???

  12. I LOVE love LOVE this wedding! I’ve never commented before after years of RMW stalking, but it’s just gorgeous. Where oh where were the ‘maids dresses from?! It’s the colour palette I want for our farm wedding next Spring but cannot find nice shades of peach any-darn-where!! Thanks <3 Ps It's made me want a floral crown too! Amazing…

  13. I remember when I first saw this wedding on Marianne’s blog and almost cried myself. The video made me shed a tear. Everything has been captured. All the pretty details, Vinny the dog, Binky not letting that smile drop all day, the mismatch bridesmaid dresses, the flat cap, that adorable flower crown, the cakes, the bikes…Oh my I could say so much about this wedding.

What a truly lovely video and amazing images.

  14. This is absolutely glorious! Please could you tell me, if you have any idea, how they executed their food? I’m desperate for a Pie ‘n’ Mash/Burger/Chippy type wedding, but have no idea how to go about serving everything so was about to just have one option. This wedding gives me hope!

  15. What a stunning inspiartion of a wedding,
Im trying to work out the music thats played over your video, its driving me mad, I recognize??

  16. I am really sorry if I forget anyone above but thought I would try and answer a few questions. The stationary is by ‘something kinda cute’. My uncle made the food booths and we just a person behind each serving up each thing. The catering was by ‘Zest Catering’.
For the bridesmaids dresses I simply gave my gals a swatch of peach and told them they could wear whatever they liked. The all went out and got something that was totally their style and as closer colour match as possible. I thought they all looked totally gorgeous!
Thanks once again for all the amazing comments above, I hope I get to shoot some of your weddings if they are anything like mine hehe!!! A totally homemade day is a lot of work but is so worth it and looking back I wouldn’t change a thing! x

  17. O MY! what a GORGEOUS wedding! i am absolutely IN-LOVE with your prada shoes – may i ask what style they were and where you purchased them? I would love these for my wedding day in July!!! xxx

  18. I’ve only been in this wonderful Wedding Bubble World for a few months and have become somewhat totally addicted to these pages and I just wanted to comment in this one. It seems to encapsulate everything a budding bride hopes for their wedding day. relaxed, done totally your way, being completely in love and having the best time with all your favourite people. Watching it all unfold on film, even though each person a perfect stranger, made me go slightly tingly with a lump in my throat and tear in my eye. Great stuff, thank you for sharing.
