Bold. Bright. Beautiful.

First of all it was the decadent feather lashes.

Then it was the colour-pop coral lipstick.

Then it was the bold, bright and beautiful florals.

Altogether the perfect ingredients for the kind of styled inspiration shoot the RMW Team know our gorgeous readers will adore. And as soon as we saw it we simply had to have it.

The very sweet and talented Louise from Bow Occasions submitted her most recent project to us as she too thought it had Rock My Wedding written all over it, with a delectable selection of gowns, catwalk- worthy hair and make-up and a whole host of completely do-able table scape ideas for you lovelies to steal…. we couldn’t agree more.

It’s Friday folks and let me tell you – We. Have. Got. It. Going. On.

Louise Bow Occasions: The shoot came about after I met Dasha from Exhibit Emotions on twitter. After talking weddings for a while, we discovered that we both have a common passion for colour and decided to plan a photo shoot for the start of spring which would inspire couples to be brave with colour when styling their weddings.

The Styling

With a starting colour palette of pink, purple and turquoise with hints of gold, Dasha and I set about finding talented wedding suppliers to enable us to bring the whole look together. It was important that each supplier contributed their own ideas for the shoot; therefore free creative rein was given. Each supplier was sent an inspiration board with the words to describe the shoot being bright, playful, colourful and fun and not much more.

The main table set up consisted of a standard white table cloth with a hessian table runner through the middle. Each place setting comprised of a gold charger plate, turquoise napkin, white dinner plate, a kraft lunchbox with a wooden fork and either a pink or clear wine glass. Gorgeous, bright flowers in pinks and purples filled three vases to make up the centre piece and then the whole look was finished off with a sprinkle of sequins. Many of the items for the shoot were purchased from the high street so not only is the photo shoot gorgeous, it is budget friendly too.

The Venue

Located in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside and within easy access to both London and the South Coast, Winters Barns is a charming barn with vaulted ceilings and stunning grounds which will take you a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

The L Shaped Barns which date back to 1690 sit in the most perfect setting with so many hidden spots making for perfect photography opportunities.

The Photographer

A bright and fun photo shoot, requires bright and fun suppliers and Dasha from Exhibit Emotions Photography is just that.

“I absolutely loved working on this photo shoot. The whole team just ‘got’ the idea and everyone was on the same page. It is very important to have that for your wedding as well. The combination of location, styling, beautiful wedding dresses, colourful flowers and all the details made it a photographer’s dream! Also, Ethel and Will are a real couple and have been together for a while, so it was such a pleasure to capture that connection and love they have for each other”.

Make-up

Make-up artist, Mariam Jensen, has been creating gorgeous makeup for over twelve years, specializing in Airbrush Makeup for HD and Digital Photography. I was so excited to have Mariam on board and knew that she would exceed expectations.

“I loved that the shoot was vibrant and fun as it allowed me to use colours that you may not see on a bride usually. I wanted to utilize colour, lashes and glitter to enhance the makeup. Wedding make-up doesn’t have to be boring and use of texture, lashes, etc can add a lot of impact and glamour to the make-up”.

To-Die-For Hair

Cassandra Rizzuto of Love Your Hair pulled out all the stops and created fantastic, statement hair styles that complimented the models make-up beautifully.

“When Louise brought her Eclectic Chic idea to me I had a hayday making my mood boards and at 10 pages later I knew it was going to be a great shoot.  I wanted to make Victoria, Jess and Ethel look different from each other so I chose hairstyles that were completely different to achieve that.  Louise had suggested adding a plait in somewhere so I decided to make Victoria’s whole style a plait to make it simple against the great lashes that she was wearing.

For Jess’s style I went with a sleeker modern 40’s inspired style to offset Victoria’s (with both being blonde) when they were photographed together but with red hair being my favourite hair colour I was so happy that Ethel was available to be there. I wanted to keep Ethel very natural so I did that in giving her some loose natural curls that made her pop on camera. With the dress changes there had to be hair changes too and I took them slightly outside of the bridal hair box with Victoria’s maiden inspired tight bun with height around the face to Jess’s High and wild bun made with a few hair extensions for the extra bulk and lastly I back combed Ethel’s curls with my fingers to give her a wilder look.

This was a lot of fun especially with Mariam’s creative and beautifully done make up”.

Fabulous Florals

Kerris from Blue Dove Weddings worked her magic on the florals, putting together two hand tied bouquets as well as centrepieces for the main table and displays for the dessert table.

“When I was given the brief I was extremely excited as the colours that Louise came up with were some of my most favourite colours. The flower arrangements came together as a fusion of passion for bright colours. Having worked for a colour forecasting company in the past our most successful colour combinations were the bright ones so I knew the colour scheme would go down well which it did to a T. Having done flowers for many weddings the most comments I get are from the ones that are brightly decorated. I wanted to introduce a mixture of texture and shapes into my floral arrangements, and I feel I achieved this.

The flowers that were used in the arrangements are Baby Pink and Violet Lisianthus, Hot Pink Ranunculus, Blue Forget-me-not, Purple Statice, Pacific Blue Roses (antique purple Roses), Baby Pink Milano Roses, Deep pink Sweet Akito roses and Purple Freesia’s”.

High Fashion

Adamo Bridal have a fantastic range of dresses suitable for all shapes and sizes not to mention an absolutely gorgeous bridal boutique. Lauren brought along a number of styles for the shoot, each one equally as beautiful as the next with designs by Alan Hannah, Cymbeline and Ugo Zaldi.

The main focus for the models was to be on the dresses, hair and make-up and therefore no there were no accessories for the shoot.

The Dessert Table

Dessert Tables are a hugely popular trend in America with the trend slowly starting to make its way to the UK. Harri from Crumbs! Couture generously provided cupcakes and cake pops for the dessert table which were extremely delicious and popular with the team after a fun days’ work. A gold frame was used as a focal point on the table and paper poms provided by Juliet from Paper Poms UK added a splash of colour.

  1. Geez! Thats some major pretty there before I head off to work!Thank god I checked here first!
Love the colours and make up, espesh the lashes!
The dresses are lovely and that dessert table looks to die for!
I was thinking clean white tones for our wedding but then you see something like that and it all goes out the window haha!
Happy friday and thanks for starting mine off a colourful one!xx

  2. Now our colour scheme couldn’t be more different (swoon en white) but it doesn’t mean that I don’t adore this.

The colour zingy, great photography and the fluffy dress? It makes me go faint all over.

  3. Are you sure you guys aren’t psychic?! This was just the wee kick I needed after umming and ahhing about my make up for the big day over the last week since I had a sneaky trial for a secret boudoir session with full on green eye make-up – hoping the boy doesn’t read this (although it’s unlikely as I’m pretty sure he only reads it when I make him!) That’s it, I’m going for the bold colour and lashes!!! 😀

Oh and P.S. Charlotte, when IS that next RMW soiree you promised up in Scotland? 🙂 I’m sure I can clear a wee space in the wedding (ahem, spare) room if you guys need somewhere to stay 😉

  4. Bex – it’s funny you should mention that, we have a rather large Scottish idea up our sleeves 😉

And definitely go for it on the green front, I was responsible for my best friends make-up for her weding a few years back and it was green all the way – looked fab.

  5. L.O.V.E the eyelashes. Cooooool.

And loving the colour palette despite a spring shoot – just goes to show you don’t need to stick with yellows/whites/blues greens for a spring affair… did I spy some hyacinths in there? And gorgeous ranunculus.

    Also love the coloured glass.

    Yummy
    xoxo

  6. So we aren’t 100% sure on our colour scheme yet – all we know is we want it bright! So hello inspiration by the bucket load! Stunning flowers, definitely one to print off for the scrapbook!

  7. I can’t look at anything past the Cymbeline dress.

NOTHING gets me like that designer. I think it’s because they make a wedding dress everything a wedding dress shouldn’t be, and they nail it, every time.

Will have to come back in an hour after I have recovered…oh and please could I walk round with those bouquets all day every day? Wouldn’t be too much at all.

  8. Thank you so much Rock My Wedding for featuring our stunning photo shoot this morning. It was such a pleasure working on the shoot and all the suppliers involved are so talented.

Am very overwhelmed by all the lovely comments and it is not even 9.30… Thanks lovelies!

    Louise x

  9. I’ve been dithering over colours for several months – I think I have finally found what I’m looking for.

This is soooooo beautiful. And I’m going to buy some feathery lashes as soon as possible!

A lovely start to a drizzly Friday!

  10. Thank you everyone for fab comments! This shoot was a photographer’s dream and such fun to photograph! All the colour and details and such gorgeous gorgeous light!

  11. A.Mazing. Totally love it and am SO excited to have Louise from Bow Occasions to help coordinate my big day in less than 3 months. Eeek, excitement! xx

  12. I’m off to the florists, need those beauties brightening up my house. I have a new fond love for ranunculus! Also I adore any hairdo with plaits in a modern way and that all over plait style is simply rocking!!!! 🙂

  13. Wow I love this colour scheme, although I’m probably biased as I had hot pink and purple for our wedding last March (had hot pink anemones, ranunculus, hyacinths, tulips along with purple freesias and lisianthus), but never thought to incorporate the turquoise, just gives it that extra pop, if I was having my day again I would so be using this colour scheme, love love love it!!

Great event styling Louise & Co 🙂

What a fab way to start a Friday morning….so want a big bouquet of brightly coloured flowers…I wonder if I can pursuade hubby to nip down to Blossom…..hmmm!!

    Happy Friday everyone xx

  14. I NEED to know where that gorgeous coral lipstick is from in the first picture!!! Gorgeous.

Those blooms are fabulous too – have added the purple ones on to my bouquet wishlist… at this rate I will have every purple flower in there!

    xoxo

  15. Beautiful! It’s so heartening to see talented people get together to celebrate their strengths…and lovely to see some vibrant colours!

Congrats on a stunning shoot xx

  16. Beautiful flowers, my colour scheme is completely different but seeing something as lovely as this does give me the wobbles a bit! x

  17. Half term (the Mecca that all teachers inexorably travel towards with gleeful hearts), big mug of tea, cat sleep-kicking on the rug and this post equal the most perfect Friday morning EVER.

Only *slightly* disturbed by the two workmen wandering round my house pumping cavity wall insulation into my…cavities. They did like the flowers though, and said that the models were ‘well fit’. The noise of masonry drilling has left me with slight tinnitus, although at least I’ll be warm whilst tuning into the high-pitched ringing deafness in my right ear 🙂

  18. I love this so much – the colours are exactly the sort of thing I’ve got in mind for my wedding in 2012, perhaps with each of the bridesmaids in a different jewel colour dress! Thank you for the brilliant inspiration!

  19. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that french plait hairstyle… Makes what i was going to have seem so dull and boring. oh no i may need another hair retrial!!!!

  20. This shoot was such an honour to be part of, everyone evolved are such talented young ladies, and man! (make model!). This has been an amazing opportunity to be part of and it took my flower art work to a new level, as the colour scheme Louise picked was so unique for a wedding, I would defiantly recommend these colour schemes to all my clients now! No cream flowers anymore just BRIGHT, BRIGHT, BRIGHT.

Thanks Louise and Dasha for letting me take party, it was a FAB day xx

  21. Love this!! We are planning a brights colour scheme – didn’t want to limit myself to one colour but a palette of gorgeousness! The flowers are just the inspiration i needed as we’re buying ours through a wholesaler/arranging ourselves – perfect! Thank you!… back to swooning over pretty colours now x

  22. Oh my goodness! I can’t believe these colours and flowers and button holes! Exactly what i’ve been discussing with my florist today, and this post have totally put my mind at rest. Everything looks gorgeous…well done!

  23. I appear to have just stumbled across my ‘oh yes! Yes! That’s it!’ wedding flowers and colour scheme!
Thanks guys, knew I would finally know what it is I want as soon as I saw it.
Love it ALL!! Hoorah!! 🙂 xxx
