I feel like festoon lights have literally taken over the world. But I'm not complaining. I LOVE them, especially when they are lighting up a stunning wedding location like in this mornings real wedding, which took place at La Finestra Sul Fiume near Lake Garda in Italy. The venues name means 'the window on the river,' and it's simply beautiful.
There's something incredibly peaceful about being at the waterside and that feeling is definitely reflected in Camilla & Brian's wedding photographs. The whole celebration looks completely idyllic, elegant and oh-so Summery. I can guarantee you'll want to picnic at the river after looking at the wedding, so I hope you've got your hampers at the ready...
The Venue
Valeria the Planner & Stylist:Brian and Camilla's wedding was one of the most romantic events I planned last summer. When they contacted me, they were determined to have an elegant but informal wedding, have fun with friends and their family in a simple way, without fuss or anything that didn't mirror their personalities. I found for them one of the most stunning place here in north Italy, a cozy off premise venue,La Finestra sul Fiume. Translating, the venues name means “The window on the river” and I can definitely say that the name is accurate!!! The venue is a dream near Lake Garda and step away from a picturesque small village, where you can still see old mills spinning in the river's water.The Ceremony
The religious ceremony took place in Mantova's old town centre, inside an incredible round church. As we were in the centre of the town waiting for the bride, the groom received greetings, wishes and wise words from all the tourist near the church (a typical Italian thing!). The main theme of this wedding was “The Journey”, because Brian and Camilla are authentic travellers and are always planning their next trip, often with their beloved motorbike (they even spent their honeymoon in Africa between lions and crocodiles!)The Details
You will not see a table plan or escort cards in the images, because Camilla, my sweet bride, decided to leave the seating choices to the guests. They received a map with all the informations about the venue, the menu and the wedding program. What can I add? The zone where this wedding took place is near Verona and lake Garda, I live and work here and it's one of the best places to plan destination weddings. Italy is famous for it's history, culture, food and landscapes and you can find all of this in lake Garda area. You can take a flight, land in Milan, Venice or Bologna airports and arrive on Lake Garda's shores in less then two hours. In fact, the main freeways & railway lines cross lake Garda's district from all directions, making it easy to organise your journey and your accommodation.
