Inspiration

A lot of hard work goes into at home weddings, and this is SO apparent at Carrie and David's sentimental farm celebration. From the multiple types of beers brewed from the hops on the farm, to the personal bride and groom glamping tent full of memories of their time together. Not to mention all the mis-match china, hand stamped napkin favours and fabulous wild florals making up those delicious rustic table scapes. Because of the personal location, Carrie and David were able to have their pet dog with them all day, who nearly steals the show in the images captured by Gloria Byler Photography. I say nearly because for me although everything else is amazing, Bride Carrie's keyhole back, lace gown and flower crown literally make my heart sing. Pinning fingers at the ready everyone. Enjoy.

Venue

Carrie the Bride: The wedding took place on David's family farm in Noti, Oregon. We transformed the farm into a dreamy wedding venue with months of hard work.

Help

Something that was unique and really special was how much our family, friends, and community were involved in so many of the details. We wanted to do as much on our own or with the help of loved ones as possible.

Decor

Some examples of all the work we/the community put in to make our wedding happen: All the beer served at the was homebrewed by the groom (including using hops grown on the farm we wed on), served from a one-of-a-kind outdoor kegerator handmade by the groom and his father, with handles blacksmithed by the groom and one of his groomsmen. The whiskey and brandy tastings were whiskey/brandy made by the groom and his father.

Ceremony

The arch we got married under was blacksmithed by the groom's grandfather. The reading in our ceremony was one selected by his grandmother (long before we were ever engaged, just one she enjoyed and shared with the bride).

Flowers

The florist was a close family friend who grows her own flowers in a farm nearby.

Details

The napkins were all hand stamped by me and my friends/family, the plates were all mismatched china bought by me & my mother at thrift shops/seconds hand stores, etc (with exception of the plate the we used - which had belonged to my grandmother).

Entertainment

The wedding band included my father. Another fun/unique detail was that we "glamped" in the night of the wedding (with the me & my bridesmaids creating a dreamy tent for us newlyweds. Many friends camp on the farm that night as well. We had a photo booth, handmade/painted signs all over the farm, corn hole, badminton (including glow-in-the-dark birdies), bocce ball, photo booth.

Cake

No wedding cake was served, we had pies from a local bakery or made by friends. The cake topper was made by one of my bridesmaids. We also had a live band! We had lights EVERYWHERE. All the lanterns, candles, etc were primarily finds from antique/thrift stores as well. We also used authentic farm items as decor.
