Business Hub

Remember when you got your first testimonial? Remember when you printed off your first business cards? Remember when you signed up for your first wedding fayre? I bet you celebrated all of those moments; either with yourself or with others. What happens when you have a small win now? Now your business is more established and you're busier. Do you celebrate when you come off a productive Zoom call with industry colleagues? Do you celebrate when you have consistently tidied your workspace at the end of every day for a week or simply got through your to-do list for that day?

The power of progress is huge in terms of recognising how far you have come and small wins are crucial to giving you a sense of progress.

Why small wins matter

In the grand scheme of things, big wins are much rarer. It's all the small wins that add up to milestone achievements. This is why it's so important that you get into the habit of celebrating small wins regularly. You'll find yourself much more motivated towards your bigger goals if you do this.

So all that said, how do you celebrate small wins? However you want to! It could be that you take a slightly longer lunch break that day; maybe you take a cycle or walk to your local bakery and pick up a hot chocolate and pain au raisin. Perhaps you book yourself in for a massage or maybe you just take some time to recognise and reflect on that small win. The mental boost from that simple act can sometimes be enough.

The benefits of celebrating ALL of your small wins are:

You stay motivated
A shift in mindset towards positivity
Gain confidence in your ability to achieve your goals
You're able to assess your strategies and if they're moving in the right direction

Some ideas for small wins you can have within your business:

Update your social media bios
Give back
Add new images to your Rock My Wedding profile
Allow yourself regular breaks
Have a tidy workspace at the end of every day
Get social - a chat with a peer in your industry can be really invigorating
Organise your reciepts
Find an accountant
Update your LinkedIn

Start recognising every small win from today and see if you reap those benefits. And also, it's just good to give yourself some self-recognition and a pat on the back for the hard work you're putting into your business.
