A Christmas Wedding In Association With De Beers

I don’t think there is a better accompaniment to the festive season than sparkly jewellery – particularly when that jewellery comes from luxury jewellers De Beers. It’s the one time of the year when more is most definitely more – Christmas is the time for decadence, glamour and celebration. Many people chose to get married during yuletide too – and we can’t really blame them…what better time to gather together your loved ones and have a big party?

So in honour of the imminent joyful season, this month’s mood board is all about styling your Christmas wedding.

Christmas Wedding Styling Ideas

The Jewellery

Christmas is a time for engagements, so this month we’ve got three stunning rings for you to swoon over. If you’re going to propose over the festive season, or if you’re choosing your ring together – then please may we point you in the direction of the Aura Cushion ring? It’s a truly beautiful piece that sparkles and glistens like crisp Winter sun on freshly fallen snow – so the perfect ring for a Christmas engagement. (Ladies feel free to *accidentally* leave this paragraph on your desktop screen for your other half to see).

If your style is less classic, then perhaps the Adonis Rose ring with it’s pretty leaf-like detail and gorgeous round solitaire diamond are for you? Equally as dazzling as the Aura Cushion, but a little more free spirited, we love the elegant curves of the band.

And finally, we have the Adonis Rose band which serves many purposes – aside from being so daintily beautiful – it would make the perfectly matched wedding band with the Adonis Rose engagement ring, as an eternity band or just a very special CHRISTMAS PRESENT for your loved one. And if Santa is listening it can now be purchased via the De Beers website if he would like to leave one in our stocking. Pretty please.

The Fashion

For Winter weddings you can go to town with your accessories – think faux fur stoles, feathery boleros, jackets, scarves, dainty kid gloves…

We loved Maddie & Justin’s skiing in Chamonix wedding – you can’t really get much more Wintery than a snow covered skiing resort, and Maddie looked beautiful in her white cape and glitzy Jenny Packham gown. (Image by Helen Cawte).

For romantic couple shots in the snow, a lovely thick checked blanket is definitely in order, and we love the romance of this image by Anastasiya Belik of this gorgeous Bride & Groom cuddling together in the snow. Not that you need any more reasons to cuddle your partner on your wedding day – but keeping cosy is definitely a good one!

And if you’re wearing stunning diamonds by De Beers, you need a sparkly head piece that is just as much of a statement – Bride Jo above in our moodboard still has one the best buns we’ve seen, and although her big day wasn’t in the Winter, we think this classic Bridal look with a modern edge is just gorgeous. The Decor

Candles, candles and more candles – there is nothing more cosy and atmospheric than the sight of a darkening room filled with the gentle flicker of candle light – plus if you chose a scented candle, you can fill the room with fragrance too. We love chunky pillar candles in large glass votives, as seen at this Winter wedding at Babington House (the ultimate festive wedding venue – just look how beautiful it is in the snow!!) And how gorgeous would the metallic twig effect candle holder, filled with elegant tapered candles look as a table centrepiece? We love this design by West Elm.

Weddings inspired by the season always look best when decorated with seasonal notes from nature – think pretty twigs, mini herb wreathes for place names, pine cones, cinnamon sticks and ribbon in earthy colours. And for the ultimate in comfort, a couple of faux fur throws and rugs placed around your venue provide the perfect way for guests to keep warm and snuggle up. (Image via The Design Chaser)

The Flowers

It wouldn’t really be a Christmas wedding without a tree – and if you want a tree with elegance and sophistication look no further than The White Company best seller faux fir tree. Let’s face it, if you’re decorating the tree for your big day, you don’t really want to be covered in pine needle scratches and then have to deal with cleaning up the tree post-wedding, and when fake trees look as good as this – it’s a no brainer.

We also love The White Company Fir & Snowberry garlands, which are perfect for decorating your venue’s staircase, fire place or doorways – and as an added bonus you then have the garlands to decorate your own home for years to come!

And finally – your bouquet – think shades of whites and greens, unstructured and slightly wild but wreathe like in it’s density – and you’ve pretty much got the perfect Winter bouquet – see this wedding for the best example. (Image by York Place Studios).
