Coloured Wedding Dresses From Our Favourite Bridal Designers

Have any of you lovely lot thought about wearing a dress that isn’t white/ivory for your big day? I know it’s a little different, and for lots of you the only way will be white, but for others, having a gown in a more unusual hue is very important.

We’ve picked some gorgeous blush, nude, blue and grey gowns from our favourite wedding dress designers (some of the industries very best) and we’re sharing them with you this afternoon…

By this point in our lives, most of us know what shades do and don’t suit us. And I’m probably not the only one out there who wouldn’t wear a white dress unless I’m nicely bronzed from a holiday/fake tan quite simply because otherwise it just washes me out. Which is where lovely shades of blush and nude come in – these are much softer shades that illuminate you, working with your natural colouring, rather than against it.

The Dresses

Some of our favourite designers are renowned for their colourful dresses – when I think of Naomi Neoh, I immediately picture her stunning blush dresses, with their princess shapes and often with a pale pink flower corsage. The same with Ian Stuart – strong, striking designers are conjured up in my mind, often using greys and blues and a distinctive champagne colour. These gowns always seem so festive to me – perfect for a Winter wedding. Sally Lacock’s gowns, although not as bold in colour perhaps, have that perfect golden hue synonymous with a vintage look.

But some of the other designers are also creating their own coloured masterpieces – you can now have a Suzanne Neville gown, with it’s beautiful structured and detailing in a stunning shade of blush. Amanda Wyatt has a baby blue gown in her Promises of Love collection that is just the perfect pastel shade and is SO dreamy. The queen of dressing Brides to feel and look beautiful and oh so feminine – Charlotte Balbier, has several dresses that are just the most delicate shade of pink.

And classic and traditional designer, Stewart Parvin, is embracing oyster shades in his latest collection.

Which dress is your favourite? Have any of you chosen to wear a dress for your big day that isn’t white or ivory? Are any of you wearing blue?

Do share 🙂

  1. Really glad people like colourful dresses, I hoped it wasn’t just me! I can’t wait to send you some photos of the ones I’ve designed and trying to make at the minute!!!

  2. Getting married in 1 week, and wearing one of these very dresses! I tried it on on a whim, and couldn’t believe how much more it suited my skin tone than a more traditional colour.

    Love these beautiful colours!

  3. im desperate to have a blue wedding dress for my wedding, I live in Banchory, Scotland and dont mind travelling to find the perfect dress

  4. I wore a black cherry velvet dress, I got married 10 years ago and still wouldn’t change my dress for the world ????????????

  5. I’m looking to get married in two years time I’m an older bride. I’ve been married before but didn’t have a proper wedding dress. I want my dress to be purple, I’ve seen some dresses online but they are made abroad so I would be very concerned about sizing as I’ve ordered clothes before and they’ve been to small when I order my size.
