If you have entered our Winter Pinterest competition then you may recognise Jo’s stunning headpiece and over-sized bun, we made sure this luscious image was on our very own board.
As well as covetable accessories and perfect locks (where does one purchase such an incredible hair donut?!…) there are also a pair of pretty pink Kate Spade shoes, a dreamy Jesus Peiro gown and some of the most elegant table decor I’ve seen in a while.
I love candelabras. I love a timeless muted colour palette. And I love it when a bride chooses to throw in some uber glamorous yet slightly unexpected pieces into the mix such as a bright blue glittery Anya Hindmarch clutch bag.
All To Ourselves
Babington House is a private member country club and part of the Soho House group. This meant having the entire house and beautiful grounds all to ourselves on the wedding day! On top of that Somerset is a lovely part of the countryside not far from London so it was ideal for anyone travelling to and from the wedding.
There is also a “Cowshed”-brand spa and every single room inside Babington House is simply gorgeous. It wasn’t a hard decision to make.
I wore my hair in a massive bun on the top of my head going for a sleek yet classic look. I had found the biggest hair donut ever which worked out perfectly and used my nan’s brooch in the middle as my something old.
Pop Of Pink
The dress was by Jesus Peiro. I also got a big tulle skirt to wear on top with a beautiful sash fro the ceremony. Afterwards the skirt came off and voilå – transformed within seconds to the long and sleek look of the actual dress.
I used my grandmother’s brooch and a sparkly blue clutch by Anya Hindmarch to accessorise.
The shoes are bright pink heels by Kate Spade. The perfect pop of colour!
Colour & Light
The photos were important to us, everyone kept saying how the day will go by so fast and it’s true. Looking back over the wedding photos from Ann-Kathrin Koch brings back the entire day and more.
Ann was our favourite photographer out of all the ones we looked at. We were drawn to her use of colour and light in the photos and after we saw our own photos we could not have chosen better! She also shoots on film which works so well with a place as pretty as Babington House.
The Perfect Fit
The bridesmaids all wore Two Birds dresses. The dresses really fitted into my colour scheme and suited every single one of them perfectly.
We wanted a cool but country vibe wedding which still represented our personalities and lots of fun! For the evening we hired a Mariachi band as a surprise for our guests!
A British Menu
Babington House serves amazing food – we went with rustic British food from local suppliers which worked so well on this cold and rainy day.
The cake was made by our good friend Amanda Connolly. It looked fantastic and tasted even better!
I work for Virgin Atlantic so instead of escort cards we designed and printed out Virgin First Class boarding passes for everyone and had two Virgin Atlantic flight attendants lead everyone to their seats.
Re-Live The Moments
Don’t stress out over the details, it will all come together in the end. Focus on what’s important to you, it’s so easy to get distracted with everything that you feel you need.
Try and enjoy the day as best as much as you can, it will be over before you know it! Having an amazing photographer helps, you’ll have a chance to relive the wedding every time you look through the photos.
