Inspiration

Converse trainer favours is most definitely a first for Rock My Wedding, but oh my what a genius idea. Guests must have absolutely LOVED popping on their very own personalised pair during the reception, and this is most definitely a wedding favour that will get used again and again. The rest of the Malaga destination wedding is just as innovative and beautiful, including bride Maria's feather-trimmed Sole Alonso bridal gown. Get ready to swoon...

Our Story

Maria & Elvira: We were roommates at university and the groom’s friend since childhood introduced us to each other. We both had partners at the time, but the spark was there and two years later, we met again and started dating. In addition, we are both celiacs so we were destined for each other.

Proposal

The proposal was in Oporto, Portugal in November 2017. María did not expect anything; we were on a trip for her birthday. I proposed to her after a very romantic dinner on the balcony of our hotel room overlooking the Duero River.

Colour Scheme

We chose blue and green tones to decorate the entire wedding. Also in the garden, we added a touched of yellow and orange in the flowers.

Wedding Ceremony

It was a religious ceremony, Maria’s mum read some lecture, and it was super beautiful. Our little cousins were our pageboys. We had 260 guests.

Florist

My bouquet had olive leaves and red flowers made by La Bouganvilla

Wedding Stationery

We had imperial tables decorated with olive leaves as table runners. All the decoration was green, wood and white. The decoration was rustic with many nature details.

Converse Trainer Favours

For the women, we had Converse shoes personalised with their initials and the phrase #Queelfindelmundotepillebailando (May the end of the work catch you dancing). Also on the table was a card with drawings about our life and a poem written by Maria’s grandfather. Maria’s aunt (Carmen) who is a painter made the drawings. We had to the typical table with cigars.

First Dance

We started dancing the Tango, it was a total surprise, nobody knew it except us. Then we were danced to some Flamenco songs and after that, we had the DJ playing music all night.

Wedding Advice

Plan everything with enough time, because the timing is important and everyone is quicker than you are.
