Inspiration

Periesa and Willis went against their African/Caribbean tradition of hosting a large wedding by keeping things intimate and only inviting 18 guests to their Coworth Park wedding in Ascot. Although the guest list was small, the style, love and smiles were in abundance. Periesa and her bridesmaids wowed us in dresses from the high street, and Willis looked incredibly dapper in a white dinner jacket and black velvet bow tie. Plus, all the portraits captured by Rebecca Carpenter Photography of the gorgeous couple and their guests are filled with soo much emotion. Not even the rain dampened their spirits, they just got out their brolly and carried on. The couple then went on to model in this colourful inspiration shoot too

What Made Our Day Unique

We are both from an African/Caribbean background and having an intimate wedding of 18 guests is almost unheard of as our culture is used to having a large wedding so that's definitely one of the things that made our day unique. We wanted our wedding to be personal on every level and that includes our suppliers. Our suppliers were a mixture of friends and ones that resonates with us as a couple. They all worked so well together and we couldn't be more pleased.

Coworth Park

Periesa & Willis chose the Oak Room at Coworth Park for their black-tie wedding. The classic room with high ceilings and cornices was perfect for their intimate ceremony and reception. The hanging sculpture of copper oak leaves matched the autumn wedding flowers and candlelight decor perfectly, and the spectacular grounds provided some wonderful backdrops for those all-important couples portraits.

Inspiration & Styling

We love to entertain so we wanted our wedding to have a stylish dinner party vibe with lots of candles and amazing floristry - we chose our flowers based on the season so they were autumnal. We wanted our guest to feels like they are in our home and I believe we definitely achieved that because some didn't want to leave :). Saying our vows to each other was one of my favourite moments. I still cry thinking about it. Also instead of throwing a bouquet, I gave the unmarried ladies each a rose instead. Willis' most memorable moment was waking up early that morning and spending most of it writing my vows. We also enjoyed the toast and speeches. It made us realise how blessed we are to have friends and family like ours.

Photographer

We had the INCREDIBLE Rebecca Carpenter Photography. We first saw Rebecca's work on Instagram. We started following her long before we got engaged and we said when we do get married, she would be the one. I kept in touch with her by referring her friends and the occasional gushing over her work! Then when we got engaged, we reached out to her. The funny thing is, she wasn’t free on our original wedding date so WE MOVED OUR WEDDING DATE to when she was next free!....yes we actually did that and would do it all over again. We got the opportunity to work with her in Venice, Italy for our engagement shoot which was lovely because it was a nice warm-up before our big day.

Periesa & Willis

Since Rebecca Carpenter Photography has captured Periesa and Willis' wedding, Rebecca has also called upon them to model for an incredibly colourful inspiration shoot at Chiddingstone Castle. Their connection, love and beauty light up the images, and Rebecca, once again, does a sterling job of capturing all the special moments, decor and details. Including the stunning stationery suite by recommended suppliers, Lilac & White.
