Inspiration

Who can believe it's October in a few days? Not us that's for sure! But with it brings cosier nights in, candlelight and sultry colours just like this gorgeous Cripps Barn wedding. We love the deep red fashion and flowers which pop beautifully under all the twinkling lights and foliage, and we're more than a little bit in love with Charlotte's bridal look too. After searching high and low for 'the one' she found her Essense of Australia wedding dress minutes down the road matching all her criteria - simple, classic and with added winter sparkle.

What Made Our Day Unique

It was really important to us to plan our day always thinking of the guests in mind. We kept asking ourselves what would we like if we attended our own wedding. To make everything as smooth and as easy as possible, we arranged all accommodation, created a website with all of the information, transportation - the lot. We wanted everyone to feel looked after and really enjoy the day with us. As we had decided to get married a little further out we decided to make a weekend of it. So, the day after, we planned a new years party, at The Fleece, where everyone was staying. To have everyone together for the whole weekend and spend quality time with our closest friends and family with priceless memories we will always remember.

Cripps Barn Wedding

If you've always longed for a rustic day, Cripps Barn will not only make all your wedding dreams come true, they will exceed them too. Situated in the Cotswolds you'll be surrounded by beautiful countryside as well as the stunning exposed brick venue. Everywhere you turn will be a beautiful photo opportunity, as Bethany and James Photography have so wonderfully displayed in their captures.

Inspiration & Styling

I love Winter, particularly Christmas - the indulgent food, cosy vibes and festivities so there was never any question about the time of year to get married. To top it off Adam proposed in December, which made it even more memorable and perfect. A winter Cotswolds setting, a rustic barn filled with as many fairy lights as we could possibly fit, foliage, deep shades of reds and greens, lots of wood and candles, pretty much sums up the ingredients for our day - a rustic romantic woodland. Cripps Barn provided the perfect backdrop to bring this theme to life, topped off by the amazing florist who transformed the barn into this romantic woodland outdoor setting. It was very important to Adam and me to personalise our day to us by adding lots of DIY features adding to the rustic theme, and I loved every part of creating these and bringing ideas.

"If you can't afford it, make it, you'll find it more time consuming but enjoyable and people really notice and appreciate it. A few favourites that we were proud of were the ladder picture tribute to those who were no longer with us to make sure they had a presence on our big day. We also designed and erected our own photo opportunity area instead of a photo booth that looked really effective made from copper piping, white cloth and an acrylic cut-out." This is a wonderful way of managing your budget and adding some personality to your day. If you're looking for some easy DIY projects, check out our latest tutorials.
