Henriette & Reuben's celebrations start with a beautiful and romantic wedding ceremony in a 16th-century palace, styled with a stunning white wisteria hanging centrepiece which has to be seen to be believed. Their day continues in equally fabulous fashion - on which note, how chic is the couple's black tie dress code - with their wedding breakfast taking place on a seaside terrace offering amazing views of Dubrovnik. You may have to pinch yourself to believe that somewhere so beautifully really exists on earth.
The Vibe Of Our Day
We styled our wedding so that it felt classic and timeless. We loved the contrast between the beautiful rustic backdrop of Dubrovnik’s old town and the white, green and gold details of our décor. Even though the style was classic – and we had a three-course dinner with speeches – we still wanted the day to feel natural and laidback; nothing too ‘American’ or posed. Our photographer, Sasa Tomic, perfectly captured the vibe of the day: a special destination wedding where people could relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Dubrovnik has been delighting in-the-know travellers - not to mention Game of Thrones fans - for a few years now, and with the popularity of saying 'I do' abroad ever increasing we can see the Pearl of the Adriatic starting to rival the likes of Italy and France as the destination wedding hotspot du jour. With a stunning cityscape plunging into a sublime seaside vista, Dubrovnik is an utter delight, and the perfect setting for Henriette & Rueben's self-confessed classically-styled wedding, which is elegant yet relaxed all in one. My top tip for brides planning a destination wedding – especially if you don’t speak the native language – is to have a wedding planner based in the country where you’ve chosen to get married. Dukata Weddings & Events made the whole planning process so smooth and come highly recommended! And to all brides, I would say to relax and enjoy your day. It goes by so fast, and no-one other than you knows how things should be, so take everything in with a smile. I didn’t sleep the night before the wedding and still had the most perfect day.
