Inspiration

Emily and Michael opted for an intimate elopement at Crouchers Orchards followed by a shoot at the beach in perfect time for a September golden hour. They had a total of seven guests and their entire day looks perfect, everything running at their speed and just so relaxed. For their ceremony backdrop, they chose a gorgeous foliage hoop and a stunning hanging floral installation for their intimate wedding breakfast. Overall such a lovely and chilled out day with tons of laughter followed by some very emotional speeches, especially as the bride and groom would shortly be moving to Australia.

What Made Your Day Unique

"We had an elopement style wedding with only our immediate family present, a total of 7 guests! Originally we wanted an outdoor wedding in Australia but it was important to us that Michael's 93-year-old Grandfather could attend so we found a location where we could have the majority of the ceremony outside on the grass. We had a London Black Cab take us to the beach for photos and the weather could not have been more perfect! We loved the moment straight after we walked down the aisle with the confetti and had our first sip of champagne as husband and wife! We also loved our time together soaking up the last rays of sunshine in the golden hour for our photos and seeing our families together. It was so special spending time with our family over our reception dinner and finished the night with fireworks."

Crouchers Orchards

The West Sussex wedding venue, Crouchers Orchards, played host to this romantic celebration and it was the perfect location to house their intimate ceremony. Emily wore a beautiful Made With Love Bridal dress, consisting of delicate lace detail and slim-fit design. This wasn't the only Australian detail as the couple added lots of eucalyptus to their day including the heart-shaped confetti and foliage chair decor, eucalyptus is an icon in Australia as they dominate the landscape. In keeping with the intimate and sophisticated day, they combined beautiful florals and hanging foliage by The Floral Artisan combined with gold touches to create the most romantic of settings for their wedding breakfast including a beautiful cake made by the bride.

Inspiration & Styling

"We wanted an intimate, romantic and sophisticated wedding with a relaxed feel. I found a bouquet I loved on Pinterest and that was the inspiration for the colour scheme. There were a lot of Australian touches with my dress being an Australian design and lots of eucalyptus! There was eucalyptus in all the flowers, on the chairs, as our place cards and I even made my own eucalyptus leaf heart-shaped confetti!"

Planning & Advice

"We would highly recommend having a small wedding and making alone time for you as a couple on the day before continuing the celebrations. We would also recommend having a videographer as you get so swept up in the moment it's hard to remember every detail! It is great to be able to watch the day over to remind you of all the special moments!"

This couples advice is to get a video of your special day made and we absolutely agree. There are tonnes of perks to having a wedding videographer, there’s something extra special about motion. Capturing the way you moved, the way you laughed, how your dress floated, the words of the speeches and the exchanging of vows, all memories to last a lifetime. If you’re on the fence we have a podcast dedicated to why you need a wedding videographer it’s definitely worth a listen.
