Inspiration

A simple, relaxed wedding whilst also enjoying a lovely day at a National Trust owned pub in Evesham with a gorgeous dahlia wedding bouquet and a delicate lace wedding dress. This summer day was covered with personal touches including a homemade cake table by members of the family, a mint green Land Rover and even an outdoor bowling alley to keep the guests entertained. The fun continued long into the evening with everyone dancing and singing away with the ceilidh band at the medieval-styled barn party all captured by Rosie Kelly Photography.

WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE

"We really pared back traditions to create a day that felt as though it reflected our values and what marriage meant to us. We decided against giving away, changing of names, confetti, cake cutting, ties for the gents, a first dance and a number of traditional photographs. We chose not to have a traditional cake, opting for cakes made by family and friends. Our readings and speeches (which came before dinner and included a bride's speech) reflected that marriage for us is about growing as individuals with the support of one another as family." - Sarah & Nick

Dahlia Wedding Bouquet

I'm sure you will agree that the dahlia wedding bouquet at this wedding is absolutely beautiful! Such a dreamy arrangement of pompom dahlias and roses perfectly put together by Bloom Collective, along with the other suppliers they were selected either because the couple admired their work already or they were local to the venue. Both Sarah and Nick are very keen to support small, independent businesses which also included their favourite weekend spot Grouch Coffee who hosted a coffee and hot chocolate truck in the garden at the reception, such a great way to add personality to the day and share what they enjoy with the guests.

INSPIRATION & STYLING

"We wanted the feel to be relaxed from start to finish. We hoped for everyone to enjoy a lovely day at the pub, and for us to get married in the midst of it. Styling-wise, we embraced the rustic style of The Fleece Inns beautiful barn. Flowers were a focal point, and we knew they had to be by Katy of Bloom Collective; we checked her availability the day after getting engaged and booked the wedding date based on it. Other details were chosen to complement the flowers, using rustic textures and tones such as linen, silk and brass. We'd done our best to try and take away a lot of the classic big 'moments' to keep things relaxed and reflect our values. It was pretty special to have the barn full of our favourite people laughing and dancing, hand in hand with people they might not have ever met before." - Sarah & Nick

The advice from this couple is to let go of any expectations of what a wedding should be and focus on creating a day that means whatever you want it to. Ensure that your choices reflect both of you, spend your money and energy on the things most important.
