Inspiration

Danby Castle wedding venue is set in the beautiful Whitby and was the perfect choice for this gorgeous celebration. The bride looked beautiful in an Emma Beaumont wedding dress (who is one of our amazing handpicked suppliers!) with lace detail and a pretty hairpiece, flanked by her four bridesmaids who wore grey multiway dresses all clutching foliage bouquets. The foliage was definitely the theme of the day, saying their I Do's in front of a foliage wreath and the wooden wedding breakfast tables littered in eucalyptus leaves. Wanting to move away from traditions, the wedding speeches were held outdoors in the castle ruins followed by pie and mash served inside on wooden benches that the couple had designed themselves! They even did a 'First Dance' sweepstake and gave the guests 100 song options for them to guess their first dance number and the lucky winners took home £100! The photography was definitely important to this couple, as the bride and groom are amazing wedding photographers, Abbie Sizer Photography, and one of our handpicked suppliers!

What Made Our Day Unique

Our main focus for our wedding day was for it to be relaxed, to flow naturally and for our friends and family to have an incredible time. We wanted a venue which offered the space for guests to mingle in different areas, both inside and outside (weather permitting). We attended Danby Castle’s wedding fayre and immediately fell in love with the place. The rustic barn, the Castle ruins, the Yorkshire Moors views and that it had stacks of character.

Entertainment was really important to this couple, they had two incredible bands at their Whitby wedding, the first they found playing in a restaurant and fell in love with and the second they found on Alive Network, one of our handpicked suppliers who provide the best entertainment for your wedding! rock my wedding forum
