Dance With Me.

Katherine and Anthony married in June at Upper Court, Kemerton.

We love a good back garden style marquee wedding here at Rock My Wedding and Richard Jones has captured the vibe of this one perfectly.

Traditional influences combined with contemporary touches and imagination make this simple and effectively styled wedding a timeless classic.

I’ll pass you over to Katherine for all the details…

The One

My dress was a Pronovias dress and it was from The Wedding Dress Shop in Wimbledon, London. I just knew my dress was the one the minute I tried it on and saw my best friends face.

Bridal Rogue

My veil was from The Wedding Dress Shop. My jewellery was from Bridal Rogue Gallery in London.

The Height Of Fashion

My shoes were sky High! My husband is 6ft 3 so I have 4 inch heels on, and kept them on all night!

MAC Magic

Make up I did myself after a vital lesson with some MAC advisors! My hair was done by a local hairdresser from Cheltenham to be sure they would turn up on the day as I cant do my hair myself!

Floral Planning

We had the most beautiful flowers and were put together by Broadway Florist. They gave us so many ideas on other things to do with our wedding that they practically became our wedding planners.

Midnight Blue

Our florist gave us an idea for our colour scheme of midnight blue! Suits were hired from Moss Bros.

Super Smart

Anthony was in a suit from Moss Bros. Sounds corny but I only noticed him smiling as I walked down the aisle, it wasn’t until afterwards that I noticed how smartly turned out he was.

Captured Perfectly

Richard Jones was our photographer, he was recommended by a friend and I knew he was our man the minute I saw his website. We could not have been happier with the photographs, he captured our day perfectly.

Cup Cakes

We went for cup cakes to avoid our caterer having to cut the cake up, we got the idea from a friend and it was loved by all. We had some chocolate and some vanilla.

Pop, Rock And Cheese

We had a DJ, one of the important parts of our day was the music and because our guests had to leave at 11.30pm we wanted 3 hours of dancing, and thats what we got! We wanted pop, rock and cheese music and thats what we got – I knew we had made the right choice when he played “We built this city”.

The One For Us

It was Olly Murs, Dance with me. We were keen to have a song to dance lively to that could get the crowd going. This was played when we were together on NYE and we looked at each other and knew it was the one for us. So cheesy I know!

Fortune Favors

For Favours we went to fortune cookies which had a funny message inside to provide a talking point amongst guests over dinner.

A Beautiful Venue

The venue was so beatiful that it kind of spoke for itself, we didn;t feel the need to add any additional decor or decorations.

Enjoy Every second

My husband is South African so the fact all his nearest and dearest travelled over was very special. My best piece of advice would be to put your dress on about 45mins before leaving the house so that you can get some “before” photos.

This will be the only day you get to wear it so dont leave it until the last minute, enjoy every second.

More than a few “Aaaahhhh…” moments in today’s wedding for any of you gorgeous lot who might be feeling a little broody ;).

Katherine looks amazing in her lacy Pronovias and the veil completes the picture perfectly.

Thanks to Katherine and Anthony for sharing their big day with us.

  1. My favourite bit of this entire post is the description of the DJ! Music is one of the most important parts of the day for us as well and I think a DJ who plays ‘we built this city’ is the best critea I have ever heard – it shall be my test of a good DJ from now on!

  2. Loving the midnight blue colour scheme, so elegant! Bride is a stunner too!

Someone gave me some advice the other day about marquees when I was panicking about decorating it. That your guests act as decorations too, and when it’s full of your nearest and dearest it will look full to the brim and I think this wedding proves just that!!

  3. I love the little and big bridesmaid dresses and just what I’ve been looking for and in my colours! Does anyone know where they are from?

  4. I love the veil and it is just what I am looking for to set off my strapless lace dress – does anyone know where it is from?

  5. @Claire the veil is exquisite isn’t it and frames Katherine’s face perfectly.

I am also a little bit obsessed with the chandelier in the church, the lasercut cupcake cases and the teeny tiny bridesmaids.

Honestly the picture of them all waiting together is to die for.

  6. I LOVE Katherine’s hair too… is making me question my up-do decision…

Also pleased to see my favourite wine being served at a wedding.

I think the little bridesmaids’ dresses are this one from John Lewis: http://www.johnlewis.com/171160/Product.aspx I lusted after these for ages but then decided on another. They look gorgeous on the little ones in this wedding!

  7. Awwww the flower girls are adorable!!! 😀
I now want a gaggle of cute little girls running around me! *sigh*

Lovely, simple, stylish wedding 🙂 xx

  8. Oh my gosh, we got married at Upper Court last year as well! Great to see another wedding there, it really is the most wonderful wedding venue.
