Inspiration

We've seen many a rolltop bath grace our pages, from a booze bath, to a more specific gin bath, they've also been used to hold flowers and now they are being added to verandas at Devon wedding venues. I'm sure our couples and industry friends will go on to find more innovative ways to include them in their wedding decor and details, and we can't wait to see what you come up with next. But, for now let's enjoy this pastel pretty wedding by recommended supplier Wild Tide Weddings.

What Made Our Day Unique

Being in a truly 'rustic' beautiful barn on a working organic farm on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Everything we used was very local, pulling together small suppliers from the area. The details were thought through from the handmade favours, flower arrangements and tailored waistcoat to the cocktails and glitter station! Nothing could re-create the amazing atmosphere of love and warmth with over 100 of your closest friends and family singing and dancing on the tables to a live band.

Devon Wedding Venues

Windout Barn has to be one of the most fun Devon wedding venues we've ever seen. On the edge of Dartmoor National Park in Exeter, its rural setting is a little slice of heaven. The best way to enjoy its picturesque views is on the veranda of The Old Piggery sitting in the twin bathtubs. Camilla & Ricky certainly look like they are having the time of their life posing in them for photographs. The barn has the wow factor too. I love the exposed bricks and beams beautifully decorated with blue hydrangeas, fairy lights and candles.

Inspiration & Styling

Rustic with a touch of sparkle! We kept it down to earth with straw bales, bars made from cider barrels, ivy from the garden and chunky pillar candles but then added touches of luxury where people appreciate it most - good local food (tapas, paella, ice cream, homemade cake), cocktails, glitter station and a live band. Less is more! Don't try to please everyone but also think of yourself as a guest. We did just that and opted for a relaxed but delicious 'food bowl' meal opposed to hours of sitting at a table in a strict seating plan. Think of what is important to you and focus on those parts. E.g. we wanted to have a free bar, so decided to keep the bar menu simple.

We absolutely LOVE to hear feedback from couples about our recommended suppliers like this - "Photographer Alan from Wild Tide Weddings was a huge hit with all the guests. He was so relaxed, warm and friendly and took the most amazing 'onlooker' style photos of guests as well as being very creative. He also stopped our Rolls Royce going down a pot holey road to the barn capturing some amazing and spontaneous snaps along the way! These are some of our absolute favourites from the day as well as the ones of us in our wedding outfits in the outdoor bathtubs at The Old Piggery, where we stayed after."
