Inspiration

Summer was most definitely in full bloom at this English country garden Dorfold Hall wedding. Just wait until you see all the gorgeous wedding flowers in crisp white, blush pink and lush green colours, including an immense floral installation and wonderful table arrangements. Bride Hollie's Pronovias wedding dress is an absolute knockout too, as are her getting robes with racer back detail.

English Country Garden Wedding

I always wanted an English country garden wedding, I wanted the outside to be brought into both the ceremony room and the marquee with lots of unstructured flowers. I opted for a subtle blush and gold colour scheme but the main elements of this theme were my gorgeous bridesmaid dresses from Maids to Measure. I wanted the whole look of the wedding to fit with Dorfold Hall, I wanted it to be classic and elegant. We spoke to lots of florists but decided to go with a florist local to my family home who also did my sister’s wedding flowers. David Beckham Doyle did an amazing job of our flowers considering our consultations involved me vaguely describing flowers I didn’t know the official name of. I wasn’t too bothered about the exact flowers that featured in the arrangements, I just knew I was set on a hanging floral installation and lots of wild-looking arrangements. One of my favourite moments of the day was walking into the marquee for the first time and smelling the gorgeous scent of all the flowers.

Dorfold Hall Wedding

When you approach the gates of a potential country house wedding venue and cruise down the long drive to the front house with goosebumps, you know you're on the cusp of something special. Hollie and Jonny were greeted by Candice when they arrived at Dorfold Hall wedding venue who showed them around the beautiful house. As you guessed they fell in love with the space with every step and recognised its potential. Their marquee reception in the gardens was out of this world. The fresh pink and green colour scheme and immense flowers fill the Sperry tent beautifully giving off perfect Summer vibes.

Wedding Stationery

I did all of the wedding stationery myself and loved it so much that since the wedding I have set up as a wedding stationery supplier (Hollie Leigh Designs). Our stationery design followed on from our wedding invitations, featuring a gorgeous eucalyptus design. However, I wanted to incorporate a metallic into the wedding so I picked gold and added some gold foil to the wedding stationery used throughout the day. Our tables were named after our favourite restaurants and placed in gold and glass frames on the tables and we had lots of little signs dotted around the venue including on our flip flop and blanket boxes. One of my favourite elements of our stationery was the personalised menus that also acted as place cards.

Real bride Hollie was a huge fan of Rock My Wedding throughout her wedding planning journey, referring to our book Your Day Your Way for lots of advice along the way (which she now buys for all of her engaged friends.) It's just one of many ways we can help you plan your day. Check out our amazing planning articles, podcast, social media channels and wedding directory too.
