Taking a trip to the seaside, Whitby to be precise, for this intimate elopement with a dried flower bouquet, a tea length wedding dress and even Herbie the little sausage dog! Keeping things intimate and family-oriented was key to this couple, including some decor which they bought with them from their home. Breaking traditions, this bride and groom decided to forgo the usual routine of the groom not seeing the bride before the ceremony, which meant the whole family could celebrate together for the entirety of the day! And all this was captured by the ever so talented Georgina Harrison who slotted in so well she became a token member of the family for the day!
What Made Our Day Unique
We chose to experience the whole day together so we decided to do away with the tradition of not seeing the bride before the ceremony. This meant the day was far more relaxed and we were able to enjoy it all together with our family. We both agree that our favourite moment of the day was exchanging our vows. Everything had been going 100 miles an hour up to then, but at that moment it felt like it all stood still. It sounds like an awful cliché, but it's true. It was just us up there, and we got to have a go at explaining in words just what we meant to each other.

The dried flower bouquet and hairpieces complemented the venue and location perfectly. With the seaside as the backdrop to this intimate celebration, it was easy to see why this couple had fallen in love with this venue. Converting their VW campervan into a photo booth was a labour of love for our couple, but one that definitely paid off as the photos it captured were priceless. And taking the dried palm leaf and pampas grass decor home afterwards and keeping the bouquet for display, it's safe to say that a little piece of Whitby will always be with them!Inspiration & Styling
The real word of the day was family, we wanted to focus on our slightly untraditional but immensely happy little family unit. The children play key roles in the day, our little sausage Herbie (the miniature Daschund) was with us for the whole day and the vows were focused on the commitments we were making as a family. I think this was also heavily influenced the styling. We tried to create a sort of home from home by bringing elements of our family home along with us. The neon sign which we used to decorate the alter lives on the wall in our 'snug' room at home and was fitted to an a-frame made from leftover floor tiles from our bathroom. The altar itself was made out of a copper pipe and now stands as the entrance to our garden. The bottles, pots, crates and candles used to decorate the venue came from our home and are now filled with the dried flowers and grasses for the ceremony.
