Inspiration

This year is absolutely flying past. I'm in shock that it's Easter this weekend! Peak wedding season is coming and I'm sure lots of you lovely readers are getting really excited (and a little nervous) about things. Don't worry, it'll all be fine and everything will come together beautifully, I promise. However, if a little escapism is in order, then we've got just the thing... The actual Easter bunny, Spring blooms aplenty and a stunning tablescape brimming with pastel details. I think you're going to love it. If you're getting married over Easter weekend have the most amazing time :)

The Inspiration

The Team Behind The Shoot: Easter is always a time of the year that brings the romantic innocence of youth and joyful wonder. With the freshness of spring flowers, the soft, pastel colours and the fairytale elements, Easter provides such gorgeous inspiration for spring weddings. It was the perfect excuse to put together this colourful and whimsical editorial. On top of that, when the model happened to have a pet rabbit (he was called Murphy who completely stole the show!), this Easter editorial was just meant to be!

The Tablescape

Wedhead styled this shoot to perfection and brought together the concept to life. We drew on the Easter theme by playing with pastel colours across different decor elements. Nothing says Easter like coloured eggs and we incorporated exactly that in place of escort cards on the table. How adorable are those egg cups from Rowen and Wren? We wanted the tablescape to be reminiscent of a garden party. Caroline Bishop Styling used seasonal blooms like cherry blossom, forget-me-nots, lilac, roses and daffodils in a cluster of mini bud vases around the main centrepiece that kept the table looking fresh and playful. To contrast the Easter theme, the crockery from Duchess and Butler was kept very rich and elegant with gold elements, blush tumblers and crystal glassware. The pink table runner by Kate Cullen added a light, airy texture to the design and the combination of uncovered lime wash trestle table with oak cross back chairs, both from Wedhead further added to the harmonious look.

The Details

The stationery by Meylor Paper Goods combined a minimal and clean typography with whimsical calligraphy that kept the playful feel of the shoot whilst keeping it elegant. This shoot was all about colours, and the colourful velvet ring boxes from La Petit Box were the perfect additions and beautifully showcased the jaw dropping golden sapphire cluster engagement ring from London Victorian Ring Co. We kept the dessert table curious, with a multicolour macaroon tower by Jammy Cakes, a pastel cake with floral accents and a sweet platter, displayed on a vintage French drawer against a duck egg barn door.

The Fashion

Katya Katya London are known for their feminine and delicate bridal designs. With the first look being more bridal, the dress stood out more against the set, softened by the delicate French lace. On the other hand, the second look with the blue tulle skirt is more romantic and playful, with a faint fairytale feel inspired by children’s literature. It certainly added an ode to Alice in Wonderland. The relaxed braided hair updo with natural makeup by Lana Makeup and the duck blue shoes from Emmy Shoes definitely gave us Disney Princess feels!
