Inspiration

Are any of you lovely lot currently planning a destination wedding? It feels to me like more and more people get married abroad now, particularly in Italy. It's almost a weekly thing that we get to visit the country of passion, via gorgeous photography of course. Eileen and David's big day is stunning, al fresco dining under the trees, crisp white table linen and as dusk fell the festoon lights began to twinkle...you can see why it's such an attractive proposition! And wait until you see the incredible views from their venue...

The Fashion

Eileen The Bride: This is not the style of dress I had in mind however when I tried this on I felt like a bride. We chose navy for the boys as we thought it would match the bridesmaids dresses and decided on waist coats as we knew the weather would be hot and thought it would still look smart when David took his jacket off.

The Venue

It was always my dream to have our wedding breakfast outside under a tree, so we started looking at venues in Italy as we thought there would be a good chance of sun. I also wanted something rustic so when I found Cinciano on line it was my dream location. We visited the venue in January and booked it on the same day as it was perfect for us. Cinciano and the neighbour hotel which is a 5 minute walk could accommodate all of our 90 guests so from a practical point of view it met another main criteria which was having all of our guests with us for the weekend.

The Decor

I wanted lots of delicate pinks and purples as I thought it would look good with the bridesmaids dresses and my dream was to have lots of candles and lights in the evening to give a romantic atmosphere. My favourite part of the day was when the sun was setting and the lights in the tree started to glow. As the venue is really rustic I wanted to keep the colours relatively neutral. As I went for a neutral colour for the bridesmaid dresses too, I wanted to add colour with the flowers. I found lots of examples of rustic flowers on Pinterest which I gave to the florist and she did an amazing job! The seating plan around the tress was an idea from Pinterest also.

The Ceremony

Walking into the church with my Mum was pretty special, I thought I would be more nervous than I was but I felt elated seeing David at the end and didn’t cry which I was worried about. My niece our flower girl surprised me by joining my friend Lisa to play her tin whistle as we left the church, she had be practicing to surprise us and was very good.

The Entertainment

We made a playlist for the drinks reception and meal which were all motown songs as we knew all of our guests would enjoy and know them. Matt played an amazing 2 hour set after dinner and our first dance was ‘fly me to the moon’, he then D.J our party playlist made up of upbeat songs classic part songs we knew everyone would know.

The Photography

I had seen Especially Amy's photos on various websites and read brides reviews all of whom only had praise for her and her work. Once we knew she was available and willing to travel to Italy we were delighted and she didn't disappoint! We love the photographs, and she was a pleasure to work with.
