Inspiration

This gorgeous couple didn't have long to plan their outdoor L.A wedding but with the help of family & friends, or should I say "freindors" as the groom liked to call them, they manage to turn their dreams into a reality and plan the perfect day. Opting for a gorgeous palette or turquoise blue, peach & gold they turned their venue into a spectacular reception full of geometric decor, hanging paper lanterns and the prettiest blooms. Adding many more personal touches, and making fabulous use of polaroid pictures of the two of them. Amy Fanton Photography also managed to capture the sweetest First Look portraits of our gorgeous couple, not to mention all the wonderful decor and details. Come See...

Engagement

Although the couple became engaged only a few months before the wedding, they decided to move quickly with wedding plans because a close family member fell ill and they wanted to ensure that she could be a part of their special day. Given that they didn't have much time to plan, friends and family of the couple who work in the wedding industry came together to make their plans a reality, adding even more of a sentimental and intimate touch to the event (Jacob lovingly titled these vendors "freindors").

Venue

The mid-century modern feel of the Fig House set the tone for the décor with a focus on playful geometric patterns and a bold colour palate of rich greens and blues offset by touches of peach and gold. The bride carried an elegantly simplistic bouquet of white and peach and wore a beautiful emerald pendant necklace along with starburst earrings and gold sandals. There were also a large number of DIY projects undertaken by the bridal party and immediate family members. The brides father created gold starbursts for the table made from painted Styrofoam balls pierced by wooden sticks, a close friend created table runners from a chevron material purchased by the bride, and the bride’s family prepared the wedding favours by wrapping mini succulents in fabric. The family of the bride also created escort cards, table numbers constructed of polaroids of the couple, and a signing frame for the couple. On the morning of the wedding, the groomsmen constructed the chuppah and hung paper lanterns while the bridesmaids helped set up the tablescapes. The DIY aspect is what made the day charming and very unique to them!

Ceremony

As the bride and groom were raised with different religions, their ceremony was a beautiful mix of the two -- with the Bride's father performing Christian elements of the ceremony and the one of the Groomsmen performing Jewish elements.

First Look

So that the couple could enjoy as much time as possible with their guests, they decided to do a "sneak peek" followed by couple's portraits prior to the ceremony. It was wonderful to be able to capture the groom's emotional response in the intimate setting with just the two of them!

DIY

The couple included many other personalised details to tie in their cool-California style including games of bocce and badminton, a menu of delicious hot truck tacos and coolhaus iceream sandwiches, and a getaway on their favorite mode of transportation--a motorcycle! The couple danced the night away to a beautifully personalised and intimate event.
