Inspiration

Doesn't Ellie look so elegant? Her Maggie Sottero gown with those pretty little capped sleeves, her gorgeous glitzy hair piece and those Emmy shoes are all giving me a serious case of the swoons. As is her wild unstructured bouquet in pastel tones, which is just bursting with dahlias and roses. And wait until you see inside the marquee - if you like blush and gold, you're going to love it! There's lots of details to behold, so I'll pass you over to Ellie to explain exactly how her and James created such a lovely look...

The Bride

Eleanor The Bride: I choose my dress from The Harrogate Bridal Lounge. It's the only boutique I looked in and fell in love with all there dresses straight away, they're all beautiful but my Maggie Sottero dress stood out for me because I thought this dress was romantic, it fitted into my theme perfectly. It was elegant, classy and made me feel like a princess.

The Flowers

My Florist was Darling & Green. I wanted these lovely ladies as my florists because their portfolio was amazing. I wanted a rustic natural look to my flowers, I didn't want structured flowers, I wanted them to be entwined and natural looking. Having my flowers this way suited Middleton Lodge perfectly.

The Venue

I fell in love with this place the minute I pulled up at the front door. The house was breath taking it's Georgian exterior and architecture is stunning. The fact that Middleton Lodge was exclusive and it was ours for the weekend made it so much more personal appose to other big venues. I knew I wanted to get married in the house on the staircase, it was beautiful and unusual I had never thought I would be walking down a staircase for my alter but in this case it seemed perfect. Guests could stand on the top of the landing and look down on the ceremony as well as sitting at the bottom this made the ceremony very intimate and personal. The grounds outside were magical too especially with candles lit up everywhere.

The Photography

I choose our photographer Georgina Harrison after seeing her work on various blogs. Her pictures are different to any other photographer I have seen, the images are more natural airy and light and they capture laughter, happiness and emotions so well. She captures all the little moments and details which make your wedding special. I felt I didn't need a videographer as her photos to me make a perfect story. She really is a unique photographer who I will be recommending to everyone.

The Decor

We wanted a shabby chic look at the wedding, Lots of homemade décor. All the signs were made by my Granddad and we found palettes and old crates and painted all of these so it had more of a personal touch. All the centre pieces were designed by my Mum she had been collecting silver antique trays from charity shops and lots of multi coloured vases and glass. We did all the table decorations ourselves, even the rosemary favours. Darling and Green did all the flowers throughout the house and marquee, they made a beautiful willow arch way where we got married under. All the confetti was real dried out flowers that we did, we even made the cones the confetti came in. We had lots of jam jars scattered around the house and in the marquee with ribbon around, this again was all designed by us. We had paper lanterns for the night time and this lit up the walk way to the marquee and looked like a magical enchanted garden. The main theme for the wedding was the pink and gold throughout the marquee, I think these colours look fabulous together, my cake was a three tier cake made from gold leaf. The table cloth was a sparkly rose gold. We had hanging lanterns down the centre of the marquee all the guest loved this and it made the marquee come together.

The Food

We had a selection of canapés after the ceremony served outside with Pimms, gin and tonic cocktails and champagne.
Wedding Breakfast Crab cakes, thai coleslaw, wasabi mayonnaise & micro leaf salad French trimmed loin of pork, apple & potato pressing, carrot and pork Jus Assiette of desserts including crème brulee, dark chocolate delice, raspberry sorbet Night Time Food In Marquee Thai green curry & home made meatballs and pesto Midnight Munchies Bacon butties in the cellar Bar
