What Made Our Day Unique

I think two things really made our wedding day unique; firstly, the date. Friday 28th December was so well received by our guests. My husband is an Assistant Head Teacher so dates were quite limited for us at the start of our planning, but I am so happy we chose it. So many of our guests hadn't been to a Winter wedding before and loved the idea of the period between Christmas and New Year being filled with a wedding celebration. Secondly, the look and feel of our day. I knew from the start even though the date nodded so much to Christmas that I didn’t want a Christmas wedding. It really went to show that even on the 28th December with the right suppliers your wedding can look as unique and non-festive if you want it too.

Emma Beaumont

Emma Beaumont has been a Rock My Wedding recommended wedding supplier for quite some time now. Her beautiful bespoke gowns first graced our pages at Holly & Mike's Welsh wedding and we've been sharing her beautiful real brides and bridal collections ever since. It's here on an RMW real wedding post, Lucy first noticed Emma's work before hunting her down on social media and booking an appointment. Lucy loved working with Emma on a dress that was completely bespoke to her (And named after her). The time and care Emma gave to Lucy at each appointment made the entire process so wonderful and an element of wedding planning Lucy will treasure forever.

Inspiration & Styling

We really wanted our wedding to be stunning, romantic and on-trend yet still have a relaxed feel about it. 'Winter chic' was my go-to words for a while! Muted tones of pinks, greens, greys and golds were a big feature in our day. We were obsessed with pampas grass for a long time and even more so after seeing it at Mandy Moores wedding a month before ours. They are such a playful and romantic grass that played a big part in our styling for the day from the aisle meadows, table arrangements to my bouquet. Candles, candles and more candles. This was also a huge thing for us. We had many an Ikea trip and invested in several different sized pillar candles which I absolutely loved the outcome of, in particular in the fireplace in our ceremony room. Our gorgeous furniture and props from Wedhead really allowed us to elevate the venue and make it our own. I could have hired every single item they have on offer, truly stunning!

Lucy & Billy

Our blog, book, Instagram and wedding directory, The List, were all huge sources of inspiration and guidance for Lucy and Billy's in between Christmas and New Year, Winter wedding. It's where they found Lucy's wedding dress designer, Emma Beaumont, their caterers Jacaranda Catering, Photographer, Rachel, and florist, Lisa. Real Bride Lucy also goes on to say "I found RMW real weddings were such a great way of finding suppliers that supported our vision. Knowing I was viewing real-life imagery and events was so reassuring." We're certain Lucy & Billy's enchanting Winter wedding is going to inspire so many more couples on their planning journey too.
