There are some weddings that simply make your heart soar, and this London summer wedding - filled with beautiful family moments and a fantastic floral arch - is one such celebration. I won't give anything away, as bride and groom Chloe & Ben tell the story best in their own words, but suffice to say you might want your hankies out for this one. Let's just say, you're never too old to find love!
Inspiration Behind The Styling
We wanted the day to be stylish but simple. The table settings were essentially an elevated version of what we have a home, with neutral IKEA tablecloths, enamel plates and pillar candles. We also collected matching vintage champagne glasses. We managed to source around 100 of them from various charity shops for less than £40! Our fabulously talented friend, Charlotte Orford, drew our table plan and table signs as a wedding gift. We named each table after a pub where we had spent meaningful time together. For the evening, we wanted the venue to have a disco feel, so Ben and his dad built an awesome photobooth backdrop complete with a neon sign and disco ball.
Floral Arch
All weddings are about making a statement: a statement of intention to love one another until death does you part. But they are also an opportunity to show off your statement style - and how beautifully do our gorgeous couple do that with their Victorian pub wedding? I love how they have stuck to styling they have at home - with the exception of splurging on a statement floral arch; after all, what better way to enter the newlywed world than through an abundance of flowers? Chloe & Ben saw Florescence's work on the door of Polpo Soho during Pride, and just knew it would ensure The Star in Highgate would look dressed enough for the occasion. And how right they were! If only it were appropriate to have an arch like this surrounding your front door...Favourite Moment Of Our Day
We had a civil ceremony at the beautiful art deco Stoke Newington Town Hall. We didn’t want to simply get the legal bit ‘out the way’, and so had a service that was formal yet wonderfully relaxed. We sang ‘It Must Be Love’ by Madness as our 'hymn', and my dad told me afterwards that hearing our family and friends belt out this classic was one of his highlights. We also asked our grandparents – 94-year-old Grandad Larry and 99-year-old Grandma Doris – to be our witnesses. Everyone choked up when they came to sign the register, and they got on so well that we're now trying to set them up on a date! It was such a special moment that we will never forget.

Because in another sweet touch (literally), Ben's Grandma kindly gave our couple the money for their cake and, in dedication to her love of tea, they had one Earl Grey flavoured layer.
