When it comes to shopping for your home, buying gorgeous glasses and serving ware is such fun and nobody makes this more enjoyable than The Wedding Shop. Their selection of stylish glasses, decanters, platters, plates and cutlery is unrivalled, making The Wedding Shop the perfect wedding gift list choice for couples who like to entertain. To showcase The Wedding Shop's beautiful and extensive range of products, we teamed up with The List cake maker, Cottonwood Bakery to share our favourite cocktail and cake combinations. Because let's face it, cocktail and cake are some of life's most enjoyable pleasures...
Herbal Garnishes For Cakes & Cocktails
Zesty lemon works beautifully with botanicals. Adding rosemary and thyme to mini lemon drizzle loaves gives an extra kick of flavour and really adds to the rustic look. Chose a drink with citrus notes that will pair well with the cakes, such as a cloudy lemonade or a classic gin gimlet, and serve in tall glass to keep your guests refreshed. We love these relaxed Nkuku glasses from The Wedding Shop, complete with wire basket - they are perfect for outdoor entertaining. Marble detailing on the wooden serving board elevates the final look and the neutral tones complement the rustic look of our adorable miniature cakes.
Opulent Gold Leaf & Berries
These beautiful hand painted watercolour biscuits, decorated with intricate gold leaf make the perfect addition to a Champagne or Prosecco bar. Bowlfuls of raspberries, strawberrries, cherries and elegant glass carafes filled with syrups are perfect for guests to create their own personalised fizz based cocktails. Bubbles call for special glasses - we used the very pretty engraved glass range from The Wedding Shop, and using the wine glass size, rather than a traditional Champagne flute, allows for garnishes to be added more easily.
Candy Floss Cocktails & Cookies
Definitely the most flamboyant of our four looks - a candy floss garnish will never fail to put a smile on your face. Use coupe glasses so you can add a generous swirl of the sugary stuff and glug over Prosecco or Champagne for a fun yet elegant tipple. We used lots of glass for this look to really let that sorbet-pink shade sing. The cut glass tray by Waterford at The Wedding Shop is an heirloom piece that would be perfect for serving all manner of delicious treats, as well as candy floss cocktails.
Edible Flowers
Edible flowers make everything look more pretty. Even these gorgeous balloon gin glasses from LSA which are already incredibly attractive. The natural fit for floral flavoured cake is, of course, a gin based cocktail and so this Gin decanter was the perfect addition to our floral cake and cocktails set up. Using a balloon glass keeps your drink cooler for longer - keeping those pretty ice cubes intact for as long as possible. Click here if you fancy making some floral ice cubes yourself.
