Planning

We are lucky enough to see lots of fabulous wedding inspiration every day at RMW and one of our favourite things is seeing how you lovely lot keep your guests well fed and watered. Whether you're after a formal silver service meal, a BBQ buffet, sharing platters, street food or afternoon tea - there is a fabulous wedding supplier out there who will serve wedding food that not only looks divine, but tastes divine too. If you're on the lookout for caterers our Recommended suppliers should be your first port of call. That variety I was talking about? We've got you covered. There is someone for every type of wedding in our Recommended Suppliers - so you know you can rely on them for fabulous service all round. We've picked some of our favourite and unusual ways to serve food and drinks at your wedding day...enjoy and apologies in advance if you haven't eaten yet - this post will definitely make you hungry!

Drinks

I'm yet to meet anyone who doesn't like Prosecco, so the Bubble Bros Prosecco Van would be a great way to serve sparkles to your guests while they are milling around in the sunshine after the ceremony. The Prosecco van is a 3-wheeled Piaggio Ape that has been lovingly converted into a sparkling wine bar and Prosecco wagon and is available to hire for weddings, parties, festivals and events. It's no secret that if we could, we'd have it parked up at RMW HQ every Friday. If you'd love some Italian antipasti to go with that Prosecco, we'd highly recommend Cin Cin, these guys have been on our Recommended Suppliers from the start and have been at the top of the street food game for a loooong time. They began serving bubbles & nibbles at street food fairs in the south of England from their vintage 1972 Fiat van and now also serve their take on authentic Italian recipes at pop-ups, events and weddings across the country. Pronounced ‘chin chin’ and meaning ‘cheers!’ in Italian, Cin Cin is all about fun and celebration, with authentic Italian food and sparkling bubbles. They create their menus according to the seasons, and source as much produce as possible from independent, local suppliers. We also love the Cider Wagon in this wedding captured by Red On Blonde, Ella & Liam hired Cedric and filled him with lovely cloudy cider which we reckon made lots of guests very happy!

A Personalised Bar

We've featured two weddings recently with AMAZING bars that really stood out. Chloe & Tom's wedding was filled with handcrafted wooden decor created by the couple themselves and we loved it so much, we asked them to join our Recommended Suppliers so you that can hire their pieces for your own big day. Their wooden bars are available for purchase or hire and can be personalised with your names. Another wedding with an epic bar was that of Jessica and Ilka. The couple actually run a bar for their day jobs and so had to include signature cocktails, light up letters and bar men who know how to mix a drink. Luckily for us all, they are looking at bringing their bar to weddings and events this summer so watch their website for more details. (Images from both weddings by Claire Penn).

Street Food Vans

After an evening of dancing, one of the most relaxed and delicious ways of satisfying your guests munchies is with street food vans and luckily for us, they are super trendy right now, so there is a ridiculous amount of choice. Pizza always goes down well and Baz & Fred come highly recommended by us. Their ovens replicate the temperatures of a full-sized brick pizza oven reaching 500 degrees in 10 minutes and cook crispy pizzas with a thin base and the perfect crust in a touch over 3 minutes. YUM. And if you're getting married in the North of England, try Pizza Fella, whose van looks as good as the pizza's! If you're after something that is good for you as well as tasting good - check out Wholefood Heaven whose vegan and vegetarian dishes served from a beautifully converted Citroen H van scooped the award for Best Main Dish at the British Street Food Awards. We think these are the ones to watch for weddings as we're seeing more and more couple making ecologically conscious wedding food choices for their big days. Plus I love the sound of a buddha bowl, I'd rather like one for my lunch. If you'd like something more traditional and hearty - how about pie and peas from the stunning Cobble Kitchen? This pretty van is actually appearing in a wedding gracing these very pages soon, so keep your eyes peeled! For smaller parties, Susie can also create picnics and even brunch which I think is a GENIUS idea for treating sore heads the morning after. Marcel, Susie's 1955 Citroen H van is based at of our favourite wedding venues, Broughton Hall, at weekends - so if you're Yorkshire based, go and sample her treats! Fish and chips go down a treat in the evening time - lots of our caterers do fabulous mini fish and chip or posh fish and chip options for evening guests, so do check them out. Or you can go old-school with traditional fish and chips served from a van like Dodson's Fresh Catch. And if you're lucky enough to be having a wedding in Spain, try the Eureka Street Food van, a Barcelona based 1974 Citroen HY, it's owner Priscilla believes that cooking and serving high quality food on the streets is possible, as is offering organic and local ingredients. And the van looks gorgeous too! We love the images from this styled shoot by Padilla & Rigau.

Sweet Treats

If the sun is shining there's nothing more lovely than serving ice cream to keep your guests refreshed - we love The Ice Cream Cab because not only do they serve delicious flavours, but the cab itself is just SO pretty. And if you fancy something a little more sweet - then why not hire their sister truck, The Waffle Float? Honestly my mouth is watering at the thought.

Traditional With A Twist

Another Recommended Suppliers member who we'd highly recommend, is Jacaranda Catering - they really understand food for events - just look how beautifully presented those canapés are in the slider. Such attention to detail, modern styling and lots of RMW Brides absolutely rave about the taste too. We're also really excited that Jacaranda have launched a street food style van, Coco Dining, which looks GORGEOUS and we can't wait to see her frequenting RMW weddings in the not too distant future (the images are from a wedding by Samuel Docker hitting RMW soon!) I challenge you to read their menu and not feel hungry...
