Planning

In May we headed up to Scotland for a fabulous evening of flowers and frolics with The Wedding Shop at their beautiful Edinburgh showroom. We welcomed lots of lovely engaged couples into the store for drinks, nibbles and to chat all things wedding. It was essentially a mini wedding fair, with fabulous wedding suppliers taking over the whole showroom, which is split over a gorgeous townhouse on Dundas Street. We were very lucky with the weather and so our guests spilled out onto the pretty street too, enjoying the sunshine and beautiful floral window display from Pyrus. The Wedding Shop team made the showroom look amazing, it was brimming with the wonderful products you can add to your gift list. Team RMW were also on hand to answer wedding planning woes and of course, RMW's Creative Director Adam had his camera in hand. Here's a few pictures, if you'd like to see...
The Wedding Shop
The evening was a great chance for us all to view the incredible range of products The Wedding Shop have for you to add to your gift list. Being able to view items in the flesh is priceless and because the Edinburgh showroom is based in a house, you really do get a feel for everything in situ. The kitchen is fully furnished and there are lots of little nooks and gorgeous rooms where you can group together the items you love, to see whether they compliment each other in real life. It's great to be able to feel the quality of items before adding them to your list. If you visit the showroom, you also get to chat to the highly experienced Wedding Shop team managed by the utterly lovely Nicola. The whole team are really knowledgable about interior design, classic and trending homeware products, and creating a list that covers lots of different aspects such as honeymoon contributions, charity donations and experiences, as well as products. The team are super friendly and if you want to visit for an initial chat, there's no obligation to sign up. Although after a visit, the temptation to do so will be strong, the experience is truly delightful and exactly the kind of thing you want to be spending your time doing while planning a wedding!
Our Showroom Takeover
On the night, guests were treated to delicious canapés from The Pantry and mouth watering cake from Liggy's Cakes, who also showed us how to create beautiful roses from icing. We served Harris Gin and Cushiedoos tonic which guests enjoyed with a slice of grapefruit in the glorious evening sunshine. Rachel Scott was on hand to chat about bridalwear and the lovely Gilly Nicholson, whose bespoke bed linen can be added to your gift list, was also there to discuss her beautiful collections. The showroom was heavily scented with lilac from the stunning floral displays by Pyrus Botanical, using glassware from LSA to display their pretty ranunculus and narcissus. At 7pm we gathered for a live Q&A - the wonderful Nicola from The Wedding Shop talked us through having a gift list and I chatted about common wedding planning dilemmas. The audience had some brilliant questions too and if you missed it on Facebook, you can watch it here, from a gift list and wedding planning point of view, there's lots to learn.
