Inspiration

One of my favourite things in life is knitwear. That sounds rather dramatic, but it's true. I love it - be it a chunky grey jumper, a snuggly scarf or a super soft cardigan, knitwear always makes me swoon. So when Lottie and I recently attended The White Gallery, I was thrilled to see that the Bridal world is really embracing designing items beyond the dress - and yes, I mean cover ups. Specifically knitwear. Hooray! When I stumbled across the stand of Belgian brand Madame Seguin I was immediately reaching for the super lightweight knits - the delicate stitches, the attention to detail, and they weren't fussy. The kind of things you'd reach for time and time again to cuddle up in, but still pretty enough to wear on your wedding day. Bridal cover ups had suddenly become cool. I was even more excited when chatting to the ladies to hear that they had been working on a shoot with one of our favourite photographers, Lucy Davenport, the images looked gorgeous and so I just knew that I had to share the shoot and the gorgeous knitwear with you all. If you're looking for something stylish and elegant but also a bit bohemian to keep you warm as the sunsets on your big day - do have a look at Madame Seguin.
Lucy the Photographer: I travelled to Amsterdam recently for a conference and wanted to shoot whilst I was there. I reached out to cashmere knitwear designers Klaartje and Ella from Madame Seguin to collaborate. Having just visited the location in Belgium, an exquisite glass house, they just knew they had to use it for the shoot. Brussels based designer Valentine Avoh provided the beautiful dresses for the shoot with textures of layers and feathers which worked perfectly with the cashmere. The accessories from SIBO Designs brought a luxurious touch along with the statement jewellery from Cotton & Gems. Aesme had kindly hand drawn some bespoke botanical pieces to tie in the element of nature.
